Probably yeah through social media, I don't see the link here though? All people have done is see the footage that is out there and voiced their opinions on it. Everyone initially was shocked and sickened, everybody is thinking of the victims, the more footage that came out though the situation looked a lot different to some mad lunatic, possibly a terrorist intending to kill people that day. Driver is at fault and fucked 100% No one defended their actions, simply tried to think why they have reacted that way considering the attack to his car. It is then highlighting that smashing windows, trying to open the door and drag the driver out, all before he has hit anybody is mindless. That made the situation escalate, that can be said. It is allowed. The driver being on drugs means from a legal point of view he is done and rightly so.
It is allowed. No one suggested otherwise.

What we have now is millions of amateur reporters reporting on how they interpret a video.

Before social media, local/national news reporters would attend the site, describe what had happened and then report what the emergency services had said about the incident and what was happening as a result.

Now we have millions of people watching a video, creating potential reasons for it happening which then creates potential narratives that ping across the world.

We still don’t really know why what happened did. We’ll have to wait for the trial, like the vast majority of cases.

The point I was making was it is strange for someone to continually use their car horn if they are trying to kill people. The horn is a warning device.

It's undisputed people were attacking the vehicle trying to smash it's windows.

The court's will apportion blame in due course.
But we don’t know the full facts-did the driver react to the fans punching his car or did they react to his actions? We don’t know.

Blame game:
  1. The coked-up driver should not have been behind the wheel.
  2. The organizers' security failed to enforce the roadblock.
  3. Fans attacked the car.

All three. I have a feeling 2 and 3 will get off far more lightly then they should because of the driver being on some form of drugs. As far as I'm aware the drug(s) in question haven't been confirmed.

As a slight side issue, it's hilarious watching some of the usual suspects tie themselves up in knots about this. The fact that the Police said it was a white man PROVES it was a muslim boat crossing invader and the Police and Starmer are just covering everything up and 'we won't have it' is all over X.

Ben Habib, director of the integrity party (whatever that is) saying that the police have said that they have arrested a 53 year old white man but NOT saying they have arrested a 53 year old white man for driving through the crowd is 'very sinister'. "The fact that they've said it is not terror related is exactly what they said at Southport and that wasn't true and they also said he was Welsh but he's not what you think of as Welsh when you think of standing in a field with sheep".......

He's likely guaranteed he's spot on QT in the next few weeks with that nonsense!

You are correct about the murder charge and it should have read attempted murder. As for no one knowing what drug he had in his system, that might not be true.
Attempted murder is notoriously the hardest charge to get over the line as a prosecutor because you need to demonstrate a higher level of intent than for murder, as nuts as that might sound.

Some of the bizarre comments on social media are laughable. People calling from 20 years hard labour to the death penalty for drug driver and attempted murder.
Maybe someone needs to remind them what the punishment for manslaughter is and how much time you do

Still not charged must be getting the point to ask a magistrate for a 36 hour extension. What they are going to charge him for must be the sticking point. They are interviewing him and reviewing evidence. The CPS will need to be convinced it was attempted murder.

The cunts original extension ends at lunchtime. Would imagine something will be said soon as to what’s next.

I will be surprised if attempted murder is the charge. Cps want results not not guilty hope am wrong I usually am.
