Europa Conference League Final 2025 | Real Betis v Chelsea | Wed 28th May '25

Does Chelsea winning this open up another Europa League place then?
Just read this

There were two scenarios in which the eighth-placed team could have qualified for Europe on the final day of the season.

1) Chelsea finished seventh before winning the Conference League final next Wednesday
2) Chelsea finished sixth and Newcastle finished seventh. Chelsea then win the Conference League final next Wednesday

Since neither of those scenarios happened - Chelsea have finished fourth - there is NO European spot for the eighth-placed team, Brighton & Hove Albion.

Huge pressure on Arteta at Arsenal now.

Both Chelsea and Spurs winning a trophy and European honours is going to ramp up the pressure immeasurably next season for them.

It's a cup or bust for Arteta next year.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression that Joe Cole isn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer?

Well, yeah, I definitely wouldn't be picking him for my phone a friend on a certain quiz show

Good player though was Joe Soap, as my late old man used to call him.

I never got it when I was younger, I thought it was just a random name he gave him, but then later i found out Joe Soap means a dope in rhyming slang. Guess my dad spotted it years ago. I'm more curious about who taught my old man it, he never lived in the UK until 1991.

Ugly twat with a terrible haircut but a great footballer. Water under bridge but we obviously made a huge mistake with him. He’d stroll into our team now

When I was a kid (late 60’s early 70’s) my uncle Joe was often called Joe soap. Never knew where it came from or what it meant. Only a few left of his generation but I’ll ask if I see anyone. Made me curious now.

Yeah I guess they thought he was thick

It wasn't until a few years ago I googled the meaning and it's old rhyming slang for a fella that's a bit thick

That's one meaning mate here's the other.

Average Person:
It can also refer to a typical or ordinary individual, not someone of high status or importance.
