It's Quiet the £250m return

She's doubled down on Rodrygo coming to us. Now a Madrid journalist is saying the same.

Apparently, I'm not the only one saying
@RodrygoGoes
is going to Manchester City.
@JCLAROS_
said the same thing in today's live stream.

Would've been fine a couple of years ago but don't really want to have a worse Marmoush in the team, good player and all but not as important as signing some centre mids + an attacking mid

Reijnders, Rodrygo, Cherki, and either a top LB or RB, ideally both.
and a good keeper if Ederson is off.

I am ok with that window.

one of Gundo, Kova, Bernardo has to leave imo. that will be a hard decision for Pep. could be made easier if one of them asks to leave and brings an offer. Gundo sounding like he is planning to stay tho.

No one is gonna state it mate but look at it it’s this way if you had two jobs lined up but one of them had a massive cloud hanging over it which one would you take ?

If I was earning 200,000 a week wherever I go, I wouldn't give it a second thought, quite frankly.

This just feels like a very "Un-City" and "Un-Pep" signing.

I can't think of a time where we have paid that kind of money for players, who are deemed surplus to requirements at clubs like Real Madrid.

He has 68 goals and 50 assists in 267 appearances for Madrid. Numbers which are very okay, but don't justify 80+ Million on a player we don't really need.
Yeah fuk it sack it off lol

I think he might be fucked tbh. This was his year the timing was right he could have really broken trough. Next year everything is different, with new players coming in players maybe regaining form etc. It will be really hard for him to get into the team I think.

He was supposed to come back in December/January that got delayed and since he's fit he's hardly in the squad. A real shame as I like him a lot. I think he might have missed his chance

The one thing that works in his favor is he's home grown. We're clearly willing to carry Rico and Bobb is an upgrade on him.

So his time will come unless he wants to go the way of Palmer and McAtee who weren't pushed out but wanted to leave.

You could say the same about Oscar Bobb. The myth, the legend has grown the longer he's been out.
Ye totally agree about Bobb, I didn’t even notice him until I’d posted haha. His stock is as high as it’s ever gonna be amongst the fans, can’t possibly get any better for him.

Some city fans have unconditional love for some players regardless of performance.

Bloody hell Who do we have to sign for you to feel better than ok?

I guess because some of us have see Bobb at youth level and have also been impressed by his first team performances, although they have been limited by injury.

Bobb is an extremely talented player and was very highly rated even before his injury. He is also HG and club trained.

I suspect he'll be a very important member of the squad and I hope he will get (and take) his opportunities next season.

It's the Tom Cleverley syndrome
The longer someone's out, the better they get
Not saying Oscar isn't going to be a good player, just let's get him in the team regularly, first.
One year back He was expected to be compared with yamal for golden boy image but due to injury he is now fighting for his squad position.
This was supposed to be his year. Pep also trusted in him by not signing much players. Due to injury he came back even later than Rodri who had a season ending injury.
Such an unlucky player.

Find me a post where anyone says he is next Yamal from start of this season for one he is 4 years older!

We have to read between lines bro. pep relied upon him last year. Thats why there were no signings apart from savinho. The main reason for that is we had bobb (and Mcatee as well). But the main factor was oscar bobb. he showed his quality in pre season as well.

You’ve just made that up - not a single person has ever said that on here

A small squad used to mean 22/23 players for Pep. I don’t think that’s the case anymore with everyone having the same opinion about how many games/how often.

He just doesn’t want a squad of 40.

Gutting the players with injury problems and buying fresh would be a big risk. They may not be the level we need right away and need time to adapt. I think we will have a few more than normal but definitely lots of outgoings.
I agree.
Easing down to a number will definitely be the right move.
As always, the danger is that some players will then receive less game time than they need to really develop. The balance is a fine one to strike. I think it can be done with the cups - so we almost have a cup team and a PL team, with a small smattering of consistent starters to ensure experience.

We had 15 first team midfielders on the books last season, 17 if you want to include the two lads on loan. It’s completely ridiculous.
