I think you're going to have to ease us in with some 'gateway' anime.

Like what's your thoughts on the Cyberpunk 2077 anime? I feel like that's the most famous one in the last few years... Just from me actually hearing about it.

Cyburpunk Edgerunners is one of masterpieces of 2D hand-drawn Japanese animation (so called anime). I love the anime.

Posted a while back in the other anime thread, but those into Dragonball. Super is on iPlayer. It’s the “no blood” kids version but it’s still all there story wise I think.

some of the Dragonball movies are also on youtube. Some dubbed some sub'd

Not sure i've actually seen threads but going by the description, yes but where the parents are not about and its a kid looking after his small sister. probably more When the Wind Blows with children.

Flow is Latvian oscar winning story about a cat? so nope not Anime. its on my watch list as its supposed to be excellent.

Although some of these netflix ones are probably not anime either if they dont come from Japan. Blue eye Samurai is a good example, Based on a Manga which is Japanese but the TV show was made in France and the US.

so there's some fuzzy lines nowadays.

Don't let the art style fool you. This one is surely for adults. The messages that this anime provide us are deep. It consists of 12 episodes, but in most of the 12 episodes, there are only two girls who survived are shown and I find it unique. They found a few survivors, but it's apocalypse, so there is no hope for them to see enough number of humans to be reproductive. Then, we are forced to see the two girls loosing things one by one which they need to survive, for example, their only vehicle stops working, then traveling to new places for foods is getting difficult, etc. I like the fact that the author didn't make the story optimistic. The two girls understand what will be waiting for them in the future (bad ending = their deaths), but they decide to keep smiling everyday. You can watch this anime on Amazon Prime Video.
