Let's not buy him then, because you're not convinced, after never seeing him playing a full game. Who would you have then Hugo?
I didn’t know I ran Manchester City’s transfer policies. Haha

I have seen him play (despite your assumption) and I’m not convinced it’s what we need. Is that alright boss? Or do I have to just accept every transfer.

Where has this “bad attitude” come from?

I need examples not gossip.
You can find reports from club journalists but there are a bit old now (2023 below).

“He’s got a mocking way of speaking sometimes,” journalist Sofiane Zouaoui explained. “This poses a real problem in training. There’s been friction recently. “Some players feel that he’s not legitimate because he doesn’t make an effort without the ball.” There is also a problem at Lyon where there is a clique, with new players not readily welcomed. It has created a “disgusting atmosphere” around the squad, which the Cherki issue only adds to.

Think its mainly his advisors that are the pain now, nothing recent on him being an issue in the dressing room anyway (from a google hunt), just work rate which certain managers have issues with (some others didn't care and worked around it).

*not sure if that what you're after but ive been looking into bits and pieces i can find as im bored.

I’m not convinced. I’m getting the same vibes I got with some of our previous signings, who haven’t been great
Looks like he’s got twice the natural ability of anyone we’ve signed in recent years. We need someone who can open up defences. With the price mentioned it doesn’t even seem like a gamble

It was clear that our entire midfield needed a revamp - smart of Viana to try and get these deals done without paying the earth. I think post Gundo, Kev and maybe Bernie we need a bit of a maverick player to go alongside Reindeer, Rodri and Nico. Talking of Bernie I always liked that when we signed him it was sorted quickly due to a set fee and was without loads of speculation - boy how well that turned out for us. What we wouldn't give for finding another 23 year old Bernie as part of our rebuild.

Can't say I know a great deal about Cherki but from all accounts he has that maverick streak that may be exactly what we need right now.

If we can get the two midfielders in before the world club thingy we will have done well. Fingers crossed then onto full backs!
Imo, the current young Bernies are rocking around at Juve. Conceicao and the turkish fella. Both missed opportunities last summer imo

A better idea than MGW still young enough to develop further but there seems similar issues to Garnacho.

Biggest difference is that Cherki is properly talented with a great football brain and Garnacho is as run-of-the-mill cut-in and pray winger with no creativity or vision beyond that as you can get

I always find it funny how some members on this forum has to say something like "I think the club knows more than you, if we want to buy him he is obviously good" with other words arguing that you cant have your own opinion about a player, your opinion must be the same as whatever the clubs is (or whatever some journalist said the clubs opinion is in his latest tweet). Amazing cult-like behavior.

Garnacho does have ability but it is the attitude that is the biggest hinderance.

This is such a weird one, I'm surprised at it but not because he's not good enough, he's a starter for us purely based on talent. Just after watching him saunter around off the ball I would have imagined peps head exploding at the thought of it. Only messi got away with that for pep but I trust pep and if he feels he can up those effort levels then it's a top signing. He's more talented than wirtz.

Never really knew anything about him prior to the links. My son assures me he is quality (he even showed me his fifa rating) for that reason I’m all in
He ripped united apart, I know I know it's united but he's extremely talented but pretty lazy off the ball.

Comparatively cheap but we don’t want people with questionable attitudes. Next thing you know they’ll be exposing themselves in public places, driving whilst under the influence, turning up to training together half-cut, or, God forbid, organising sex parties for their teammates. Anyway, best go repair some damaged panes in the glass house…
Lol, they all got the boot in short order but. £25M still worth it regardless

I think with a better coach and under a different system garnacho would be a world beater. United is just a shithole. They need to be completely revamped. Once he moves to Napoli or another premier league club let’s say Brentford/ Newcastle he would play far better. The talent and ability is there

If we look back over the last two seasons, as opposed to just this one, then it’s evident that we lack creativity from the middle of the park. We were bereft of ideas when de Bruyne was absent in 23-24 and again in 24-25; even when fit things were no longer at the same level. Presumably, the idea was for Foden and especially Bobb to have assumed the mantle and to lead us into the next campaign, yet both have suffered health difficulties, of different sorts, and both find themselves a year behind in their development. It would be highly risky depending on two players over whom you carry question marks, so Cherki as an alternative makes sense.
If we can somehow have all three in form and working together, then pity the team that chooses to park the bus.

Disagree, I think his ceiling is very low and I am not saying that because of him being at United. I rate Diallo highly and I used to rate Greenwood before he fucked it all up by being a ****. I just think Garnacho have nothing about him that seperates him from any other average winger. He can look fine when he can be subbed on for 15 minutes against a team that has met no threat for 75 minutes, maybe sometimes he even produce something but every time he starts it ends in tears. He is a bit like Doku if you strip away Doku's absolute world-class dribbling but gives him a finishing ability that maybe amounts to a couple of more goals a season. A complete non-entity of a winger on the highest level

But then again several players have left the PL and gone on to look pretty good, so maybe Garnacho would look decent in Naples as well. Won't ever start regularilyfor a top 4 team in England though
