I don't know if you can in ODIs, but you can't in T20

There was a match a few weeks ago where the openers put on a big score in an T20, and then had 10 batsmen retired out, all in order to make sure they had time to bowl the opponents out before bad weather.

UAE vs Qatar.

They’d still beat Lancs though.

92 extras, including 63 wides

the 2 was a wide and a dropped catch at slip.
Only ten players batted as injuries mounted with one player breaking a finger, another doing their hamstring and another being hit in the head

Seems Richmond had a huge number of players unavailable for the holiday weekend, and then a lot of late dropouts. Some of the randoms they brought in had black trainers on, so little did they play.

Obviously didn't see it, as I was working. But what were the Windies bowling; 40mph full tosses?
Just very ordinary stuff, particularly overs 40 to 46. Better at the death when they took 3 wickets to restrict England to a mere 400. Had Bethell and Jacks continued it would have been 30 more at least.

Just looked at the bowling figures. The most economical rate was 5.57. One fella went for 11 rpo, off 8 overs. Ouch.

They should have chosen to bat first and they’d have been home 3 hours quicker.
