Andy Burnham | Manchester Mayor

PIP is not a means tested benefit. Put the bins out. Sometimes they get emptied. And when they do always block driveway when replacing. Is that you Tom? Central funding for LA has been decimated under repeated tory administrations but cutting refuse collections leads to more fly tipping. No idea where you live but country lane around Dunham and Partington are getting woworse
Well you've gone off on a rant there but fair enough.

People that fly tip or litter are selfish tramps, nothing to do with bin collections.

As I say, personally speaking we have no issues with our collections.

Unfortunately, the bigger the general waste bin you give a lot of people then the more they'll put in it, a lot of people are just lazy.

That doesn't make it right ! There doing it so we can as well.
A Trafford Councillor told me months ago it was either put the council tax up by a large amount or charge for green bins.

They did both.
I agree with you but LA's are fooked financially. Have to pay for all sorts of shite imposed by Central Government with no extra money to pay for it.

At least it's an option, personally I need it but if you can manage without don't pay it.
Composter in the corner of your garden is a good way.

When green bins were first introduced, councils were paid for the waste. Now they're paying for it to be composted.

I have 3 compost bins on the go but grass cannot go in them nor can weeds.
My point was I was told it was one or the other but of course it was both

Says who?

If you leave it long enough grass and weeds (define a weed) will break down, especially with an ants nest in there.

The bugger is egg shells, they take ages :-)

Grass cut by a mower compacts and turns into a solid slime ball. Yes it will eventually rot down, everything eventually rots but 3 mower box cuttings do not rot down in any decent time and so fuck up the rest of your compost.

Anyway this is about Burnham not compost:-)

For once I agree with Burnham.

Strangeways prison should be relocated from its current "out of date" city-centre location, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has said.
Manchester's political leaders and the Ministry of Justice are understood to be in initial talks about potentially closing the Victorian-era jail, said the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).

They should do this with all city centre prisons and hospitals. The land they stand on must be worth enough to cover the cost of relocation.

Relocate where? Old Trafford?

Agreed but like everything in the UK it's a "long term" solution.

We are a very broken country.

Andy's not bent is he?

There's no suggestion that he personally profited, and that's just the opening statement by the complainant in the case

I think you need a verdict before passing judgement.
i didn't pass judgement, i just asked a question

Ah, the hopeless defence of an innocent question. "mind your car Mr?" isn't a murderer, is he?

"So, Respondent MYCM, by asking the question you were not really suggesting that Mr Burnham is corrupt?"

(Think carefully how you answer, as it will ruin your defence against defamation if you implied that he was corrupt but didn't actually believe it.)

Do you think anybody would loan that kind of money illegally without wanting a favour in return? Seems a little implausible to me.
