That got so little coverage I think I first found out about it on BM.
A family trust means he still owns them and yet the Fit and Proper persons test has never been mentioned.
Lewis pleaded guilty to fraudulent stock market dealing on a grand scale and avoided jail because of his age. He transferred ownership of Spurs to his family in 2022 as the FBI were closing in on him. Levy is also a major Spurs shareholder. But no investigation from the PL, no extensive media campaigns, no examination of Spurs finances going back 15 years. Apparently Sheikh Mansour legally paying £2.75m consultancy fees to Roberto Mancini in 2008 is a "crime" which warrants a four-year investigation by PL lawyers into City's financial affairs. Aided and abetted by a poisonous smear campaign in the UK media where one of the biggest critics of our club is none other than Daniel Levy. You couldn't make it up.

They did

Who were one of the prime movers to set up the PL? It was Spurs and their then chairman and owner at the time Alan Sugar made a shit ton of money linking up with Sky selling his Amstrad satellite boxes during the tv boom back in the early 90s. They are in essence one of the prime stake holders of the league which allowed them a 15 percent cut of the tv money whilst the likes of City got 10 percent. How Peter Swales allowed them to do it with his standing in the FA at the time is bonkers, but we all know a lot of what he did didn’t make sense back then.

Anyways, follow the paper trail. spurs’ tentacles go deep into this and it’s no coincidence Pep was calling out Daniel Levy when these charges were dropped back in February 2023. If Joe Lewis can get caught insider trading, what else is he up to with his other business interests eg Spurs.

The insider dealing included his friends, family, staff and was widespread. He lent them money they bought shares in firms he was about to purchase. They paid him back and split the profits. It went on for years. It was a web of corruption. And yet, even after Lewis pleaded guilty in 2023, no one at the PL thought it was worthy of any attention. This is what City are dealing with. It is a bloody scandal the way we have been treated.

If anyone's got Billy Meredith on the back of their shirt, they might want to give the torygraph a miss. In a triumph of up to date news reporting, they're raking over the scandal involving City and Big Billy from the early 1900s!

The implication being that already having been found guilty of cheating and being penalised, we're at it again, probably. They are aware of this being horse shit, but it reinforces their bias.

Oddly enough nothing about the match fixing exploits of vermin/scum or bumnals entry into the first division.

And that Meredith story is a great example of the more things change, the more they stay the same. That was also a case of nouveau riche City upsetting the then-established cartel clubs like Villa.

Every other club paid their star players additional wages off the books, but only City got done.

Fucking hell how far back are the PL going back to find something on this club.

I don't think it's racism exactly, not even that they specifically hate City. It's just that they're so in bed with Liverpool, Arsenal and united, that anything we do has to be painted negatively. Same for anyone else that decides to challenge them.
Curious how certain members of the graffiti scribblers union are saying that
PSG winning the cl was good for football and I think it was Darren Lewis blathering on about it being good because of the football they played rather than the huge amounts of money spent.
