Its a mix. I think we were technically far weaker this season than we've ever been which meant our technical superiority wasn't good enough to protect any other frailty.

Nunes towards the end of the season, showed damn near Walker pace. O'Reilly was also pretty fast. So was Gvardiol and Akanji. Its no surprise we improved with this additions.

But it's worth noting that our greatest risk happened when players ( due to technical failures) misplaced passes that led to goals. From Kev to Phil to Gvardiol to Akanji, to Nunes to Gonzalez. We just lost the ball too often due to lower technical skill.

I am highly excited by links to players with impeccable technical skills.
100%. We agree on something.

No doubt our team was far sloppier in possession this year, and that opens us up to counters.

Also agree he would be better in tight full back areas than gavardiol, and much better coming inside.

Got 4 goals and 7 assists last season. Kerkez played more minutes in a better side, that scored more goals, got 2 goals and 6 assists

Do they? Who would you identify, of the players who cost a bit of money and didn't get sold on for what we paid or more, did the scouts get badly wrong? I reckon it's these:

Disaster: Mangala, Philips, Mendy (hardly the scouts fault), Bony, Jovetic (due to injury)

Never good enough: Sinclair, Rodwell, Gomez, Angelino, Nastasic, Garcia

Underwhelming: Nunes, Fernando, Navas, Torres, Grealish (for the money), Danilo, Nolito

For my money (and I might have forgotten a couple) that's all of shite signings since the infamously terrible transfer window of in the 12/13 season. And even some of these played an important role at times. The rags would manage that level of failure in a couple of transfer windows.
Don't disagree with much of that though I'd add Bravo and remove Navas who I thought decent .

Navas is a real mystery. He was bloody good his first season. Getting past his man regularly, and when he wasn't, putting fizzing balls over that often got to Beast (and others in the box). Fell off a cliff in his second season and from then on. Seemed to lose a yard of pace, (and for a winger who is not a dribbler, that's a lot).

Otherwise, I agree with everyone on his list, and the categories they're assigned to. Only one slight problem: Nunes is improving all the time. He's made a much better fist of his position since the turn of the year (approximately). I don't really think he's a class right back, and I don't think he ever will be. You've only got to think of Walker in his good years.
But decent squad player now, if he's happy with that.

But I still don't get it. Out of 100 players in what? Your league? Your position? The world?
His position in the league. So of all full backs in the league, here is whee he ranked in those attributes. Better than 86% in the stats you guys were discussing.

In other words, if its above 80%, you can conclude he is very good at that thing being judged.
