Stadium Turnstile Upgrades

I don't.

I use the on and off button on mobile.

I don't use my finger print either.

Why can't YOU understand that not all people like you want or are at ease about their privacy and face being videoed and kept on a data base. (just to gain entry into a stadium)

No matter how hard you try and justify what City might be planning with these new turnstiles, you won't convince people it's OK and they shouldn't be bothered.

With all due respect, give it a rest.

Strange how people just assume you do something as they do it themselves. Same as you, never used facial recognition or the fingerprint features on my phone. Not exactly hard or a massive inconvenience to put a 4 or 5 digit code in to unlock my phone instead of letting them have my fingerprint.

Innevitable - it's all about having complete and utter control over your whereabouts, spending and behaviour.
Treated like the unworthy commodities they view us as. I take it all "friends and family" will have to download a photo" to their membership/citizen accounts to gain access soon.
Unfortunately they have the product and we will subserviently have to dance.
Aside from the actual match. The whole experience is contrived, transparently money orientated,, controlling and tedious these days.
Bombarded with warnings you don't get unnecessarily insulted, with elsewhere, legal tender refused, appallingly contrived "entertainment", shit prizes, overly officious stewarding...with the obligatory, "have hi vis, show lack of any common sense", syndrome.
Think you need some happy pills, that’s one depressingly sad post about a season ticket for football, it’s not life or death as Shankley said, I know it’s raining this morning but that black cloud following you will soon turn into sunshine.

Whether they bring some sort of facial ID in or not, the sad thing about this thread is the fact that so many people feel it’s a ploy by City. There’s a lack of trust. I’m off to see Dear England at the Lowry this week. If I can’t make it for some reason, I’ll pass my ticket onto someone else without an issue. I don’t expect to sit through the interval listening to 10 minutes of warnings of all the things I might do wrong. The only warning I might get, and heartily agree with, is ‘don’t film the show on your phone’. Wish to God they’d bring that one in at City!

I think he’s spot on. As you say it’s not life or death but for generations it’s been a release from the stresses and strains of everyday life for communities. Now it’s a pain in the arse just sorting a ticket for a family member and the match day experience is completely sanitised.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

You're right though - used to be a/the highlight of the week no matter the results, or division. Doesn't feel that way these days.

If you have know about City plotting this for years why have you never mentioned it? If you have know about this for years why not spill the beans when we won the treble or 4 in a row?

Football clubs have filmed fans going in the turnstiles since the 1980's! this is not a big deal and wont effect your life
This issue has been discussed on this forum since at least the thread of 2019 and I’ve discussed it with members both in person and online
Don’t assume your own ignorance is universal

Ha. ''Physician... and all that.

It’s a fantastic play. Highly recommend it. Joseph Fiennes was sensational as Gareth Southgate.

Maybe the club is testing FR out on the staff and stewards first to see how it works, to see how effective it is, and to iron out any issues before rolling it out to the fans in the future within the T&C's and a seasons notice?

You don't install FR on new turnstiles without the intention of using it at some point. You don't spend all that money on it just for the staff and stewards.

Clear as day that.

it is what it is, the club just needs to stop lying to fans. be straight up honest and live with the consequences instead of being dicks all the time

So people who don't want their faces scanned are conspiracy theorists?
I see it as very similar to the price rises, if you don’t draw a line in the sand now, where will we end up ? Predicting the end game doesn’t make you a conspiracy nut, especially when the pathway is so clear. At this rate we’ll all end up watching the game from our armchairs with big screens round the whole stadium like Covid times with a capacity of 5 million :)

It's the glaring fact that the club even mentioned it, if this is just for staff (Which is another argument) why mention staff matters to matchday attendees?

We didn't need to know the security arrangements, the real point is that these expensive systems will be integrated into turnstiles and food kiosks etc after they have trialed them IMHO.

Why does the club ‘installing camera’s for accreditation’ have people thinking they’re installing facial recognition cameras, which are very different pieces of kit? Can’t see it myself.
Firstly, I’d be astonished if they were even allowed to do such a thing,
Secondly, my local train station has a camera on the unmanned platform, so someone can see your ticket and let you through the barrier, should said ticket not work and they certainly can’t see me when I use it.
Next, looking at the pictures, anything that might be remotely called a camera is only about 4 feet off the ground…… Can’t imagine installing a system that takes pictures, 95% of which would be of children….

Lastly, of course, should it be proven that they are installing FR cameras, there’s absolutely no law which precludes you walking backwards to the turnstiles, which your face covered, a balaclava on, wearing sunglasses and a jaunty hat……

You get the impression some at the club "take in the washing"....and then insult us, by thinking we do too.
Every unnecessary new initiative, every "raising awareness" (the domain of the ignorant) issue,....and then sold to us like the greatest snake oil ever!! Everything poorly introduced and veiled.

Treat us like adults again City.

Depends how ugly you are ;)
I'm not as ugly as you, that's for sure. ;-)

"I always feel like somebody's watching me, I've got no privacy"

Asda.

Like it or not that's the way it's going

Covid was a real eye opener to what can be done with or without fans

Virtual fans are the future .... we are the FOC past
