Sorry if this has been stated but what injury has Stones got that he is still not fit 4 months later

Honestly at this point I don't think Pep is fussed, if Stones gives him the go ahead he is fit then he plays and if not Pep just moves on without him as we had to for for months this season.

Cant help but feel at this point the lad must be mentally scarred by injuries and likely has doubt in his own mind of when he is fit.

Aren't the players who weren't called up on international duty on holiday for a couple of weeks now? The squad flies out to the US this weekend doesn't it? So he's free to do what he wants, and if he wants to go to the F1 GP and meet up with some pals from the England squad is it an issue?

He's less likely to get injured doing that than staying with City and training!

Stones is better bringing the ball out of defence but is nowhere near Kompany in tackling. Both great players, both hampered by injuries but Kompany wad a better all round player than Stones I think.

Football is all about opinions. Personally, I would say that Kompany was a great captain and leader, but he was a reactive rather than proactive player.

Stones is an absolutely top quality footballer who has everything in his game apart from leadership qualities.

Kompany was the new Andy Morrison, Stones was the new Dave Watson.

Had this recently with my mates, Stones has always needed that leader next to him to excel. Stones has never been that man at centre back to be a leader. Kompany could play with anyone and excel. I really like Stones and he is a cult legend but do think blues go over the top, claiming he is better than Kompany being the prime example

I don't disagree about how good John Stones is but his injury record is twice as bad ak Kompany's and has gotten worse each season with us. No point having him out injured paying him big wages each week for nothing, we need to let him find another club this summer.

Even I in my (much joked about) admiration for John Boy never said he was better than Kompany. Just on a par with him I guess.

Well I certainly wouldn't say Stones in his pomp was better than Kompany, I did enjoy watching him more, personally. There's just something about a truly elegant central defender that is up there with a tricky byline winger or a creative maverick as things that make me love the game
