No we werent, the media says we were but we went down another route, we have paid for ait nouri who we believe better suits our system, just because people here think kerkez is the better player doesnt mean that hed be better in our system.

Let's face it Liverpool historically have always been a bigger pull than us, but less so since the takeover. United were until recently a bigger pull to certain players. They're not now though with no European involvement next season, thankfully : )

No they haven’t. Get to know a bit of history. Sky TV has really affected you (or maybe you are not as old as me and don’t know any different).

Their great history of winning trophies in the 70'and 80's playing exciting football. Those who weren't born then have heard the folklore derived from a long period of success. Most of the media hold them as darlings and suckhole up to them.

Some blues will argue they haven't got a bigger pulling power than us or a bigger club than us. They have and they are IMO through their successful history, especially European success which attracts fans from all over the globe. We're catching up fast though.

My dad told me Pool weren’t anything special before Klopp. They used to play bad football and nobody feared them.

So you genuinely think their european history and being good in the 70s and 80s attracts players today, wow sky and the media has really brainwashed you hasnt it, let me tell you this apart from to the fans of the clubs the history of a club doesnt mean jackshit to anyone else, do you really a think a 22 year old is going to say wow these guys were good 40 years ago so thats where i want to be, just read that back to yourself and see how crazy that sounds as a statement.

I have a sneaky feeling that poster has his/her tongue that much in their cheek it has infact poked through.

This all came about because of Wirtz. To some players different clubs at the top table will have their own attractions to that player. Some will choose Liverpool, Madrid, us etc. others won’t.
 
Why is everyone going along with Wirtz turning us down for Liverpool??

We withdrew our interest in him, not the other way around.

Why do our own fans believe this shite?

Seemed pretty obvious that Wirtz had told us no, regardless of whether he picked Bayern or Liverpool.

We would have gone into that deal fully aware of how much it would all cost, so you can understand why people aren't believing the brief that the package was too expensive.

It’s just football talk that’s all. Nobody really knows anything but it will never be beyond belief that a top player will choose club A over club B, because they will all have their own reasons to do so - much like this but again, it’s just football talk and not to be taken too seriously.

Yes I genuinely do. I've not been brainwashed by media thank you, i'm old enough to know. Like I previously mentioned those who weren't around back in their most successful period from the early 70's to the end of the 80's have heard of their success through folklore passed down from friends and families who witnessed their success, and through newspapers and modern day Internet media too.

I think it’s because if it had been down to purely money, City would not have walked away. He was our top target.
For me us withdrawing is a clear sign that he has already told us he wants to play for Liverpool.

folklore? You genuinely cant be serious, i tell you what ill just go and buy a nokia phone cos they used to be quite good many years ago as well, somebody suggested you were being sarcastic i really really hope that you are.
