I just hope Liverpool go ahead and sign Wirtz soon as possible before they realise Leverkusen are pulling their pants down. Getting a bit worried they'll pull out and try and gazump us for Cherki as he is the much better value player. I really wanted Wirtz before he chose Liverpool but I don't want us to sign him now. Hoping we have convinced Cherki to sign for us and will feel relieved and happy when he's wearing our shirt.

We can’t keep letting rivals gazzump us. If we want the player, we need to pay up, not keep looking for cheaper options. Otherwise we’ll end up very average.

not sure it's gazumping as much the agent/selling club creating an auction to pump up the price & package to the player's predetermined choice of club - seems Cucurella was always headed Chelsea, Rice to Arsenal, Bellingham to Madrid - probably Wirtz as well.

First Wirtz, then Cherki - we aren’t that poor an attraction to these players surely? We need to be doing more to convince them we’re as big a draw as Liverpool.
Personally I don’t see them as a bigger draw, they’ve the same chance of the title or CL as us each season, plus we have Pep, and the added bonus of not being in shitty Merseyside.

It won’t be like that to them. As much as we may hate Liverpool it’s easy to see why a player would choose them over other clubs, not just us. Likewise it’s the same why players would choose us over other clubs. Hasn’t Cherki said he only wants us and Pep, if what you believe in line is to be true.
We are as much of a draw to players as Liverpool are. Some will choose them, some will choose us.
