First time I've encountered a Bitlocker shutdown. After using my MS A/c on another computer to get a recovery code it now says a new pin is required. When I try to reset the pin I don't receive the code by email to my outlook address or by message to the linked phone to allow me to change it. Suggestions?

This is caused by specialist police units that are monitoring the worst sorts of filth accessing your pc/ internet connection.
The only real solution is to smash the hard drive into tiny pieces and lob them in the sea.

I'll find out the the next sailing from Stockport and make sure I'm aboard.

Just got back from a tour of two computer repair shops with my laptop, both have pronounced it dead.
Can anyone recommend a cheaper but decent replacement for this very expensive HP Envy 360 (similar small size / backlit keyboard preferred)
What do you intend on using it for?

Have a look here - All intel i5 laptops with backlit keyboards. Should give you no bother when running MS Office.

Cost dependent on what you need RAM/Storage wise and what sort of screen/graphics you want.

At least that will give you an idea of what model, and then you can see if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

It's the wife's laptop - she's a bedtime Sporcle and YT addict so a decent keyboard is needed!

The HP Omnibook is the replacement for the Envy and the Spectre (had an Envy, it was great, managed to convince work to get me a Spectre, it's a lovely machine, but both have been replaced by the Omnibook).
