‘Scored 3 in my last 3 appearances over 45 minutes’

It’s not even true as he failed to score against Forest, Plymouth and Leyton Orient
He did get an assist and got robbed of a second against Orient tbf to him.

Curious some here think Jack's going to put everything out there when he leaves and will go Zlatan-mode all of a sudden. It's funny honestly.

He'll probably consider it when he's wrapped up in the emotion of leaving on not the best of terms, but he'd do well to realize that he's not taken his chances despite not being managed perfectly.
Not taken his chances.........according to Pep that is.

Don't think that's him. The comments don't read like his posts usually do. Jack's Instagram account doesn't even follow TalkSport. Think someone's just having a laugh tbh.

Jack's been criticised a lot over the last 3-4 years and has never responded before. Uncertain as to why he would start now when he's looking for a new club potentially and why he would be so catty.

Hardly "oh god" comments to be fair. The man is frustrated and I don't blame him. At the end of the day, he must be hurting and he's only human, seeing utter shit written about him day in day out. He's hardly digging out anyone here, just sticking up for himself.

Yeah. I meant ‘oh god’ in the sense of its inconvenience more than actual content.

I can see the frustration with Jack, his biggest problem was his fee. If we bought him for 40/50 mil nobody would bat an eyelid. For 100m you have to consistently deliver.

I actually think the 100m's been forgotten by all of us who aren't in bad faith. I think the feeling is simply that he hasn't delivered on his promise or gifts. And I'll repeat what I've often said on here — I'd like to have seen him much more in a central position. He's looked good to me there. Pep had his own reasons for not putting him there. But Phil's got much more game time than him this season, unless I'm very mistaken — and he's been no better than his mate, if the truth be known. Not this season, anyway.

Pep was ever going to be honest about his reasons for not picking Jack.

I don't think he played as poorly as Bernardo, Gundo, de Bruyne or Foden for a majority of his appearances this season, but he must not have played well enough in his few appearances for Pep to be comfortable playing him over the others.

The few injuries he picked up came at pretty inconvenient times for him. The one early in the season where he seemed to be somewhat regularly picked and the worst was the one against Madrid where he started the game really well and got us a goal after getting us past Orient in the cup.

Hindsight and all, but this season was a massive waste for him and he probably should've moved last summer for his sake.

The problem with social media these days - especially in the age of blue ticks, now that outrage and wind-ups have been incentivised and monetised - is that while these recent comments might not even be coming from Jack personally, it's in everyone's interests to just presume it's him kicking off so they can create more content out of it.

It's like the incident from the other week when Forest's owner was kicking off on the pitch about Awoniyi's injury. The conversation was about letting Awoniyi back on the pitch when he'd been badly hurt, but it was in everyone's interests to run with the narrative that he was giving Nuno a bollocking for missing out on Champions League football.

It reminds me of that scene from the very first episode of The Thick of It.

Malcolm: The announcement that you didn't make today, you did.
Hugh: No, no, I didn't, and there were television cameras there while I was not doing it.
Malcolm: Fuck them.
Hugh: I'm not quite sure what level of reality I'm supposed to be operating on.
Malcolm: Look, this is what they run with. I tell them that you said it, they believe that you said it. They don't really believe you said it, they know that you never said it. But it's in their interests to say that you said it. Because if they don't say that you said it, they're not gonna get what you say tomorrow or the next day, when I decide to tell them what it is you're saying.

City are a better team when jack starts, pep thought this too up until recently.
Proof being he started the Madrid home game, looked great, we got in the lead and then he went off injured in the 30th min. Something happened between then and at the end of the season. He has done something to piss pep off big time and unfortunately there is only winner then.

I do think Jack for 60 mins LW and then bringing on Doku would our best combination and a defenders nightmare but we likely wont see it now.

Agreed he probably could've played in the middle more to give us some legs there and help us retain possession which would've helped our defense. With all the chaos that came from losing Rodri, Pep rode with the guys he knew/thought he could trust which left Jack the odd man out. Gundo though, at 34, was sixth highest for minutes for City in the PL this season. I can't believe that Jack would've been worse than Gundo in that late-fall to winter stretch when we were getting overrun game after game.

Just realised the goals he’s referring to are against PSG in January, a lower-league Salford and a relegated Leicester. All while highlighting just how unavailable he’s been.

Oh, Jack.

It's insulting being lied to by our gaffer. Hard position though because it was always clear that it was personal and off the field reasons. But put it this way, Jack starts and scores against Leicester, dropped the next game, comes on against PSG and scores, dropped, plays central against Forest and looks great, dropped the next week. Played well in his cup performances, albeit against lesser sides but then doesn't get a sniff the week after. It is insulting from Pep because what player took their chances last season and deserved to be repeatedly picked? None. It was personal and fair enough but don't insult our intelligence Josep

Don't like the idea of the media doing their best to keep Jack on their side, it's all going to be one way all City's and Pep's fault, if or when he leaves, Jack should know Pep gave him so many chances and he blew it with the lifestyle

somewhere in there, we know he is a world-class player
Hmm, maybe, maybe not. My definition of world class Is a player who's proven himself for club and country for at least 2 seasons with several MOTM stand out performances andaverages 7 anything above 7.5 per game And has involvement in game changing moments either attacking or defending or both in individual and team effort.

Probably the best thing about him leaving will be all the insufferable children who have tried to make Grealish's problems somehow Pep's fault, will have to either leave with him to his next club or find some other way to slag off Pep.
Haha nobody dare question Pep... EVER! Now that is insufferable
