Who would want to be given the same award that Jimmy Savile and Cyril Smith were given?
Just 5% of honours go to the North of England. Rugby League has never had anyone knighted.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...eckham-knighthood-kings-birthday-honours.html
Finally Beckham has stopped being snubbed and overlooked for his Knighthood! Him and Victoria finally get to be called Lord and Lady Beckham and enjoy their £525m wealth! To be fair i think he just about deserves it more Booby Moore ever did!
Meanwhile Kevin Sinfield got a CBE for running 7 marathons in 7 days with to raise £77,777 (Burrows number), his gesture raised £1.2m. Since then he has ran 10 ultra marathons earning over £10m whilst grieving for his best mate, putting his career on hold and looking after Rob's family best he can!
Plenty of less fortunate people selflessly sacrifice a whole lot more of their time, effort and a lager percentage of their money in relative terms helping other people without expecting anything in return.Captained England for over 5 years, Supports a number of charities and various projects -

dying before their fifth birthday.- In 2009 David visited South Africa to see UNICEF’s work with children and families living with HIV and AIDS
- In 2011 David helped launch UNICEF UK’s appeal for the East African food crisis.
- In 2012 David delivered an open letter with over 50 high profile signatories to UK Prime Minister David Cameron ahead of
a global hunger summit – helping to secure a commitment by world leaders to reduce child malnutrition by 2016.- David helped to launch UNICEF’s appeal for Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, in which 1.7 million children were displaced and
many lost their lives. David also travelled to the Philippines to meet children and families affected by the typhoon.- In 2014 David recorded a video message supporting UNICEF’s fight to beat Ebola, which was broadcast across
Sierra Leone, one of the worst-affected countries, reaching over 2 million people.
has just become an ambassador for The King’s Foundation - which has education programmes and helps ensure young people have greater access to nature.
Great work from Beckham. Looks as though he's had a nine year sabbatical.Captained England for over 5 years, Supports a number of charities and various projects -

Don’t forget Beckham has been working diligently at this for years - he’s got a big press and publicity machine behind him. Anything he ever does for charity - you’ll know about it. He’s been oiling around the establishment, royals and now King Charles for ages. He’s worked the system and has got his prize.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...eckham-knighthood-kings-birthday-honours.html

Hasn’t he been overlooked’ in recent years for dodgy tax evasion?Who allegedly said this last year
“…if it’s not a knighthood, they can fuck off !!”
Good to see the Government has responded.
Seriously, I’d scrap the whole honours system (and the House of Lords) - it’s a fucking joke.

I don't believe in the honours system as is but that has nothing to do with Beckham.
People have forever wanted wealth and have been self promoting. I think you may have a different opinion on Haaland for instance. My view is he is very motivated and done the absolute best with what he has, and he doesn't come across as a bad bloke tbh.
You may or may not have a dislike of him because he made his name at the scum but no way on God's earth is that not a major reasoning for this rather ott scorn directed at him. The thread is an embarrassment to rational and non biased thinking.
