Stones is on decent money. Do we want him taking up wages just for 20 games a season? His injuries are getting worse and worse each season. Love him and he's been class when he's played - but time for him to move on now

It was more noticeable with the absence of Ake, Akanji, Dias, Rodri & Kova all at the same time. When he plays he is top class, good for a goal. If we could rely a n 20 games & the others are all fit then id keep him for another year.

Can I ask why the grief for Nunes leaving for City but Nouri doesn't?
Hi, it's an easy one to answer as others have said Nunes was/is not so good as he thinks he is, but the main reason is as soon as he knew you guys were interested, he said something along the lines of if you don't let me go I will go on strike which is what he did by not turning up for training, as for Rayan i have already said he was my favourite player who has simply kept his head down and never kicked up a fuss even though he is allegedly one of the lowest paid players in our squad. I will continue to pop in to comment from time to time and look forward to seing Rayan bamboozle some of your opposition oh and by the way make sure you get that Champions title back in 2026, can't stand Arteta nor the scousers arghhhhhh.

And he leaves on a free? Isn't his contract up in a year? Kev, Walker (doubt we'll ask for a fee), Gundo, potentially Stones - we need to get a bit of money back for these players. Bernardo will be leaving for free as well next year.

I'd be happy for Stones to go. Immense in the CL final when he recovered to be picked?

However I get a feeling his heart isn't in it anymore.

Hungry players win things.

Much as it pains me to say it, because a in form John Stones is one of my favourite players to watch, I just don’t think he has a run of games in him anymore.

He can’t stitch an actual run together, and ends up breaking down after the third or fourth game - then being out of action for another couple of months.

He’s demonstrated he just can’t be relied upon anymore, and for that reason I think it’s time we let him go.

The difficulty will be finding a side he’d actually be willing to join to take him off our hands, so it may need to be a heavily subsidised loan.

Such a shame.

If he’d been able to stay fit, he’d be talked about as one of the undisputed greats of the game.

A centre back who genuinely helped redefine the role.

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. Stonesy is a fabulous player but his injuries have sadly become to frequent and for me that means we can't rely on him and it's best if he is moved on.

I can just see him go to Everton play 30 games and be a revelation if we sold him. As most agree fabulous player when fit. I’d rather keep Stones and have cover than spend on a HG player who couldn’t lace his boots

The problem is that he can only be cover if he is fit, and a fit John Stones would be a starter in our team, not cover. If he could stay fit we wouldn't be having conversations about getting rid

I agree he would be. I would rather the club kept him and he given time proves his fitness rather than have to rush back (Madrid away being one example) and can understand why there is a discussion of him going on here. Anyhow back to the RAN thread :)

We make money on the academy, we reward long serving superstars with free transfers. He’s more than paid off his fee.

Might help if he retired from international football

With FFP getting tighter and tighter every year and them finding different ways to fuck us over - at some point we're going to have to sell players that are past their best, instead of letting them go for free

I think you need to look at how much we make from sales, we do very well. I also believe it’s a great sign to players you want to sign or extend when they see players rewarded with free transfers. If he does another year that’s 10 years for £40m.

I know how much we make from academy sales - like I say, they're thinking of new ways to fuck us over each year so I imagine over the next 24 months the rules will be changed again

So how much do you want to sell stones for?
