Do you have a favourite ever goal?

Yaya vs Villa, when he charged through their entire defence to make it 4-0 a week or so before we ended up winning the title .... again.

I don't have a favourite goal because to me that's an impossible ask. There's also a lot of recency bias. But that was one hell of a goal. I didn't even applaud it. I didn't shout or scream. I just sat and absorbed what I believed I'd just seen.
But — to counter recency bias: very, very fond of Franny Lee against West Brom, Charity Shield, 1968. The slickest free kick I think I've ever seen taken. Nobody remembers it because unimportant match in the scheme of things. (Also, a lot of people on here weren't born when it was scored).

Aguero’s first against United in 2013 when we beat them 4-1. Hooked it on the volley from behind him, from a Kolarov cross following a Nasri flick down the line.

This is one my very favourite goals. Wonderful move and incredible finish.

His goal at O.T. when he went past Phil ‘The Face’ Jones was another magnificent goal. Sergio has a few in contention!

Personal favourite Joe Royle versus the dippers October 77. 48 years ago seems like yesterday.
Played on an absolute ice rink of a pitch. Watson og gave those cunts a very late equaliser- that and the disallowed goal at Ipswich could have seen us win the league.

I think I would have chosen the Sané goal against Arsenal. It was a “complete team” goal with some very special movement and touches, although Gundo’s against United at the Etihad was also a ridiculous team goal.

I’m all for a thunderbastard and a good free-kick (Kompany/Marmoush and Elano immediately spring to mind), but watching City go through the gears and leave another top team on their arse is a very special footballing moment.
Brilliant that night but rags and gooners have not been top teams for a while.

My memory is shocking but hopefully others can confirm this.

Kinkladze vs Leicester.

It was a night game IIRC and the pitch was dodgy even by our standards at the time. Might have been in the cup. He picked the ball up in his own half and instead of jinking around a bunch of players like in the famous goal against Southampton, he just charged directly at their centre mids and centre backs who were absolutely shit scared of him, the stroked it into the bottom corner. I was usually in the North Stand at the time but for whatever reason, we were in the posh seats in the Main Stand and I remember thinking that this was peak football.

Many favourite goals already mentioned but I’ll go for kiddos late equaliser at trafford in a 2-2 draw 1978. City came back from 2-0 down and I can still see kiddo with arms aloft running along the Stretford end. A goal that the media wanted to forget, being scored by an ex man u European cup winner, of course.
