The Squad planning thread

Don't think pep will be playing a midfield 3 of
Rodri
Rejniders
Cherki
After us getting caught out by the transition time and time again last season. I see it more of rodri plus either bernie kovacic or gonzalez with rejniders playing in the 10. Foden/cherki inside right marmoush/doku on the left halland up top with bobb as false 9 back up. Savio out on loan.

Although he did well at RB, he is nowhere near good enough in the long term.
My valuation is a projection based on a) how he dod when he started playing RB b) where he finished while playing RB. c) his skill set and d) the overall team improvement when he played the position vs when bhe didn't.

Based on all those, i see a potential top 10 fullback. Not perfect, but very good.

There must he some poor right fullbacks in this country and throughout the world if they are not better than Nunes in that position .
I could name 10 in the English league's, whether they are available is another matter.
I can only name 2. Livramento and Gusto. The difference is not great enough for Gusto for me. I think he'll be about Gusto level next season. Liv has that homegrown, age, flexibility edge that makes him superior

But I'll be happy to hear the other 8 English RBs you rate higher than end of season Nunes.

Looking forward to seeing what Pep will do. Don't think anything is set in stone.

CWC should be the first iteration.

I think with it looking like we will play with 2 attacking fullbacks he will have 2 sitters in midfield. If not its gonna be very attacking and fun to watch.

I think Gundo will go.

I also think Kovacic may go despite being injured at the moment. He should be fit just before the window closes.

Ake and Akanji…hmmmm…I would like to keep Ake.

I said in the English league not English players.
Another poster who likes to twist posts.
Cash,Timber,White,Veltman,James,
Aina,Munoz,Porro,Semedo,Arnold,Bradley and I could throw in Trippier who is still better and that is without going through every team .
Nunes is not a full back and never will be.
I will not fault him for the effort he put in but he was purely a stop gap because of injuries, Rico lack of form and the Walker situation.

Gusto is far better defensively than Nunes. I highly doubt that Nunes will reach that level. I personally don’t think that there are 10 RB‘s better but I think someone like Munoz, James, Porro,Aina and Semedo are also better RB‘s. I am also talking about offense only. If you included both defense than there would be more .

Gusto is french lad. How many English lads do you know named Malo Gusto?

Another poster who likes to twist posts... And you just named various players that are far below Nunes level lol.

I've not mentioned Gusto and the question was not about English players who are better in the right back position than Nunes.
The players I have named are in my opinion better than him in that position the op I'm sure would disagree.
It pays to read properly.

The first post had nothing to do with English players. He named the two right backs he thought are better than Nunes this season in the prem at RB. You started the English comment lol.

If you're asking me, the only RB's I think are clearly a level above Nunes going into this season, I'd say White, Timber, Livramento, and Gusto. Maybe Frimpong too but he's more of a winger. Much worse than Nunes at traditional RB.

I'd say players that could be on his level are Aina, Bradley, and Munoz and that tier. It'd be pointless to pay for this tier or below.

He did say In his opinion that the 2 named are better than Nunes to which my reply was I could think of 10 in the English league that are better in my opinion .
I did not mention that their were 10 English player's better.
Does that help your understanding .

Have you remembered Villa, B'mouth, Brentford, Fulham, Brighton, West Ham, Wolves, Spurs etc all have decent RBs? Even the rags have a couple of handy ones.

Gusto is not an English player, so obviously I meant RBs in the league.

He is better than Cash, Arnold, Bradley, and Veltman. On par with Porro, Semedo, Aina and Munoz. Let's revisit at the end of the season if he stays and plays RB

James yes, but because of injury, No.

I think he is on par with all those except James. But i deducted points for being injury prone. So i would take Nunes over James.

Munoz maybe. All the others, no. Same level or weaker.

Regards RB, i think Pep will see Nunes as the offensive option and Akanji as the go to for the big games. Maybe even Khusanow in the defensive role. Lewis as back up.
I can live with those options. If everywhere else is sorted.

It seems you are better at expressing my point...

Much appreciated :)
