New style of play?

As I suggest, do we think we will see a more attacking style.
With players we have bought in and the new backroom staff it seems to suggest we are going to play with more freedom, I for one hope we do.
Just would like the thoughts of others...........

Guess it depends if the opposition come out of their penalty box.

And why wouldn't you? We've got the best goalscorer in the world. A freak. Pure goalscorers like that don't come around often

50 odd goals in his first season and broke the PL record when we had fresher legs around him and we won a treble. Some of our fans are mental when they say we are better without him. We certainly are much better with him when we play with purpose rather than passing like it's rugby.
Every team in the world would be better with haaland anyone who thinks otherwise has never watched a game of football

I don't think a lot of our fans quite realise just how much of a force this club has become. Some of the posts are laughable when you look at our achievements, even this season. 17 other clubs would love to have finished 3rd, 18 would have loved to have made it to the cup final, even just once in a while. We're doing it almost with impunity.

I think given the circumstances we had a great season, I just wish some would learn to enjoy it more instead of whinging at every little aspect that doesn't quite go out way. We're lucky to be witnessing this, it's not something I ever thought I would see in my lifetime. 20 years ago I would have been happy just having the chance to get to a cup final now and again.
Pep and Viana's intentions are there for all to see/ We've signed Ait-Nouri, Marmoush and Cherki. Their attacking statistics are at the top of the charts.

I think the other PL managers, teams, and fans are in for a shock next season.

And because of the FIFA Club World Cup, City will hit the ground running at the start of the PL season, whilst the other PL clubs start off slowly.

i think new formation will be that Marmoush and Cherki will go in the middle from the wings, while Ait Nouri and new RB will have the winger role

probably the only question is defense, because Rudolph and Cherki are not the best defenders
I think most players with the right attitude and motivation can become decent at defending. I see Doku improving at that, Mahrez when he arrived was useless at it but eventually became ...not bad.

Haaland is the maybe the only issue, because he'll never be a pressing forward, but that's a physical thing. He could do it, but then when it came to 60 minutes he'd be exhausted and would totally nullify his effectiveness and the point of having him in the first place.

New style is definitely on a horizon otherwise we wouldn't be getting Klopp era people and buy players that aren't similar to KDB.

Gvardiol, Father Ruben and ‘Skynet’ Rodri can mop up whatever makes it through the front lines…

Will we go all out atrack after our defensive short comings last season? I see it more of we will be solid but have players in the final 3rd that can win us games on their own. Rodri will drop into to a back 3 with dias/khusanov gvardiol/ake at times to allow the fullbacks to get forward gonzalez rejniders in front with marmoush/doku haaland/bobb and foden/cherki taking the front 3 spots. I think we may also play more Conservative away from home with maybe akanji and ake as full backs in the tougher games. So many options exciting season ahead.

It will be an evolution of what we have always seen under Pep. Ignore last season, that was a means to an end. We'll see inverted full backs, more energy and control from the midfield and as a result more attacking freedom.

We should see a much better high press too, knowing we have the players to do it and that it will not lead to us being sliced open so easily.

It's going to be a lot more enjoyable than last season and we should be challenging in all competitions again.

There is nobody like KDB, but Reijnders is very like Gundogan, Cherki has many of David SIlva's qualaties, so while the ew coaches will have some influence and help our pressing, it will still be similar to how nprevious Pep teams have set up.

Can’t wait to see overlapping fullbacks again. Considering the recruitments from Liverpool and how much they used Robertson and Tront we must surely see something similar. How frustrating it’s been this season to see the wingers getting the balls out wide just to pass it back to Akanji or Dias in the middle of the pitch. Buzzing to see what’ll come out of this.
