Which dirty club has a bigger stranglehold on football media? Liverpool or United? For me it’s Liverpool, nothing bad is ever said about them.
Agree . Just listen to this for a Liverpool love in ...in fact the for whole American project .... a bit of criticism generally about ticket prices and loosing atmosphere and loyalty at at the end but you have to wade a through a lorry load of treacle first , along the lines of nothing to see here and what lovely owners they all are ( apart from the Glazers) .. interesting they did say flinging money at a club is not the answer , it has to be a rebuild from top to bottom , but failed to mention City as the intimate success story. Apparently Liverpool invented that too.

Ahh yes Kelly Dalgleish and her completely unbiased opinion.
That explains a lot . Nauseating. I had mistakenly listened thinking it would be an unbiased analysis of the implications of the Yankification of football . Apparently Chelsea and us were / are dismissed as "rich mens toys" while American owners are all invested in the romance and the love of the authenticity.

When you sign the Serie A midfielder of the year and a player Thierry Henry describes as the quickest dribbler he's ever seen then you have to use the word "underwhelming".

Ogden is as thick as pigshit.
you cant blame ogden for using the word underwhelming its the only word hes heard all his life, grades at school - underwhelming, university course - underwhelming, looks - underwhelming, journalism skills - underwhelming, broadcasting skills - underwhelming, its all he knows.

I expect the last person on earth City want to overwhelm with their signings is Ragden.

The circus is in town if you want to see some clowns….

Comes to show that the pundits on this panel don't have a clue what they are going on about.

They are inept and outdated (all of the pundits)

Don was saying the most stupid things and I found it very hard to watch or listen to any of his "words of wisdom"

The state of them as a collective is at an all time low

Fancy buying players before selling - fukwits!

pundits show that the saying is true, those that can - do, those that cant - teach and those who know absolutely fuck all about anything become football pundits

Sorry to burst your bubble, but i suggest you avoid the latest ESPN podcast - apparently our signings are underwhelming (Mark Ogden), and no other teams were after them. Summer ruined.

"How will Reijnders get in the side?"

Thanks for posting.

Just watched it.. for some reason a few minutes in I began hearing in my mind voices saying 'Goodness, Jeff.. De Bruyne.. when you look at the amount Man City are paying for this boy, the world is going bonkers.. £54 million? I just don't see it Jeff, I just don't see it..'

Well, we'll see with the new lads some way down the road.. but my money's on Pep et al knowing what they're doing* and not on a bunch of know-next-to-nowt, tribal 'Wayne Kerrs' pontificating after a few scoops..

(* and btw, 'Wayne Kerrs'.. Pep might yet surprise everyone next season with another innovative tactical approach to replace the 'slow, side-to-side' you so deride in this discussion.. given the new legs and pace he's introduced to the squad, his updated, revised version of 'Gegenpress', anyone?!)

Fast forward to the end of the season when we spank the league and it'll be...

Are Manchester City ruining football.

Ogden claims that City are no longer signing top-shelf players!

In this June window we bought the best left back in the Premier League (by goal involvements), we bought the best midfielder in Serie A (by vote) , and one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 who scored twice against his Utd side last season. In January we brought in Omar Marmoush whose game was so strong in the Bundesliga that his goal involvements still better those of Wirtz.

Either Ogden wants to believe that City are a fading force, or he is simply churning out nonsense for a City hating audience. Either way it's poor journalism. No matter. As Man Utd decline, City grow. The journalist species will either evolve or die as per Darwinian natural selection.
