Pep Ljinders appointed as assistant coach | James French joins as set-piece coach (p15)

Kolo played twice as many games for City than for Liverpool and the story is about City so let's use a picture of him playing for the dippers.

Unbelievaboo!

Also won the league with City in 2012, which his fellow team mate and apparently greatest player of all time Steven Gerrard never did.

James French will have his work cut out.
Perplexity disagrees with you!

Manchester City ranked 2nd in the Premier League for goals scored from dead balls during the 2024-25 season. They were one of the top teams converting set-piece opportunities into goals, showcasing their effectiveness in dead-ball situations behind Arsenal, who led in goals from corners, specifically.

Will Pep share his technical area? - He's made it a no go zone for anyone other than himself. Can just see him tolerating the set piece bollocks.
The PL says only 1 in there at a time anyway, so shouldn’t be an issue. NUFC apparently have a special dispensation!!

We were shit regardless of the stats mate.

That's bollocks.
24/25 was the worst season for deadball goals since Pep's arrivals.
6 - Corners
0- Indirect FK
1- Direct FK

23/24 was very good though:

11- Corners (conceded 3) soe
3 - Indirect FK (conceded 0)
3 - Direct FK (conceded 0)

Total 17 -3 for +14

Arsenal
16-corners (conceded 6)
3- Indirect (conceded 0)
0 - Direct (conceded 1)

Total 19-7 for +12

Arsenal received loads of plaudits for corners particularly in 23/24. It was never mentioned they were poor at them (relatively) defensively.

Interesting to read that Pep spoke to Klopp before offering the job to the other Peo, and that despite the rivalry between them Guardiola and Klopp clearly have a huge amount of respect for each other. Both are decent human beings and I actually find it quite hard to dislike Klopp, the big toothed adopted Scouse ****

Absolutely bizarre post after all the mud Klopp has thrown at us over the years. The bus smashing was in part down to him, stirring it up before the game. He never failed to try and turn the narrative into us "spending money that he couldn't spend". Screamed at referees when he didn't get his way. Spat his dummy out at the media when answering questions after the game.

Only this year -
"Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has said he would throw a party on the island of Mallorca should the Premier League strip Manchester City of their titles due to breaches of financial regulations"

Just because we've had a year off him doesn't mean he's not a **** anymore.

He's right on par with bacon face for me. Absolutely detest the bloke. I even hated him at Dortmund. Everything about him is fake and snidey.

And his bad day for football comment after the CAS case? You could argue context and what he actually meant, but he's an intelligent guy and knew what he was saying.
