That would confuse the opposition somewhat
Maybe against teams who park the bus, both go into midfield

It would be more beneficial to them if we paid £80m and sold them someone at the fee you're thinking of + £20m.I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a deal being struck somewhere in the region of £60m but then we sell them someone at a reduced fee to make up the difference and help with both teams books
Also Newcastle don’t have the quota issues that we do so they could well invest the fee back into the right back spot and have change. Possibly even go after one of the non HG players we’ve targeted

Its unlikely, but unless you know the Newcastle finances and what they want to spend this summer on improving their squad you can”t be sure. There are players they’d rather sell but will it raise the money they want, there are also other players that would raise decent moneythey’d want to keep above Livramento. Also losing Livramento doesn’t really mean they will struggle to get CL football again and compete on a European level because imagine they can recruit here. Losing Isak definitely weakens them more. It’s damage limitations.
