Tino Livramento

Can you honestly see the Saudi's selling him to City, and weakening their defence and team?

Newcastle are in the CL. They don't need the money.

I honestly can't see the Saudi's sanctioning the sale above Howe"s head.

Howe and the Newcastle fans would go mad.

They don't have a lot of choice if the player really wants to go. I mean they can stonewall the player, but that isn't ideal. We will have to see how badly he wants City.

They'd sell him if they got a ludicrously high offer. Every player, at every club, has a price. But City have shown that they'll walk away from any deal if they feel the price is too high. Rice and Wirtz being the two most high profile recent examples.

I guess if the player is set on it we all know with player power in sports now it only goes one way.

Newcastle also need friends as like us most clubs despise them and will always vote against them. I wouldn’t be surprised that we have a mutual understanding considering we are both being targeted by the prem etc.

Also losing Livramento doesn’t really mean they will struggle to get CL football again and compete on a European level because imagine they can recruit here. Losing Isak definitely weakens them more. It’s damage limitations.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a deal being struck somewhere in the region of £60m but then we sell them someone at a reduced fee to make up the difference and help with both teams books

Also Newcastle don’t have the quota issues that we do so they could well invest the fee back into the right back spot and have change. Possibly even go after one of the non HG players we’ve targeted

Nunes plus £30m would be a good deal for both clubs imo
They get a versatile player who can play in numerous positions. I think he is starting to become a good player.
We get the dedicated fullback we need and English to boot

Why Weird

I don't see City and Pep playing with wingers at all next season, fullbacks will be used to push up and support the attackers, I think Doku is the better winger, So Savinho will not get much game time
That would mean 3 at the back.
I can’t see pep doing that
What he may do is have two inverted fullbacks, where they take turns popping up in midfield.
That would confuse the opposition somewhat
Maybe against teams who park the bus, both go into midfield
Who knows what Pep has up his sleeve.

Well he's got plenty of options now .

they'll just invert with an overlapping fullback instead, they'll have the same role just more support.

It would be more beneficial to them if we paid £80m and sold them someone at the fee you're thinking of + £20m.

D you really, honestly think nunes is good for Newcastle? Also, losing livramento, to a potential rival, who is one of the brightest, talented, young fullbacks, not only in England but potentially the whole of Europe for nunes and spare change?Would you honestly do that if we are looking from Newcastle perspective?

Exactly. As I said there is no chance we are getting him, you would have to spend really big otherwise like grealish's transfer fee to even have a chance and I am sure they would decline anyways.

If I was a Newcastle fan, I’d be pissed off if the club accepted this deal

Rodri will be used to split the centre-backs

it will be attacking midfield and possibly playing 2 number 10s with Haaland

Its unlikely, but unless you know the Newcastle finances and what they want to spend this summer on improving their squad you can”t be sure. There are players they’d rather sell but will it raise the money they want, there are also other players that would raise decent moneythey’d want to keep above Livramento. Pretty sure the club know whether ther is any cance or no chance.

We haven’t got a like for like player to offer them in return meaning they’ll have to recruit. They’ve talked to Molina at AM.

Out of all our players I think the only ones that makes sense sending them there are;

McAtee
Grealish
Ake (doubtful but they’d be interested)
Nunes
Lewis (I don’t think we’d want him to leave)

Walker and Phillips are nowhere near good enough now and we want to develop Bah to either sell high or have here.

There’s no way Savinho would be let go and I’d be surprised if Lewis was either

Savinho just didn't cut it for me. Also, I hate the throwing up of arms and stopping because he thinks it's a foul
Pep changed it up in the last 3 or 4 games of last season and went back to packing the midfield.
Teams just sat back and sort of worked out our patterns of play, everything was going out wide to the wingers and they just double up on them.

It was hard to watch the ball going wide to the wingers and then back into the midfield and defence
Pep will have something up his sleeve for next season and I don't think it will involve wingers

Agreed. Selling Livramento is much more palatable than selling Isak, Gordon or Guimaraes.
