Parts of the Wirral are very nice places to live and several Liverpool and Everton players live there.

And Knutsford and Wilmslow too. (I've seen at least 3 of them in a posh Knutsford supermarket over the years. Infact one, who reportedly has betting debts regularly buys scratch cards, but that's another story....). So what does that say about the Liverpool 'desirable ' suburbs? The only one I could rate as half decentish would be Woolton Village.

I just love the objectivity of Jan Arne Riise when asked to opine on potential signings at Liverpool. You might as well wheel in Danny from Breck Road who would also tell you that other fans are just jealous of a potential British record fee. The willingness for Sky to spin such an expensive deal, given the way they lambast the spending of others, is just rank hypocrisy. It is weird that the two clubs who receive such preferential treatment from Sky were also the only two clubs allowed to vet the appointment of the current PL chief.

Good signing for them. I'm more interested though about how good we can be with our new signings and how Pep is going to evolve our squad. If he can do that successfully then them signing Wirtz won't stop us.

Woolton is a nice area, Heswall and Neston too. I've worked on the Wirral so I've seen most of the affluent and effluent areas.

the problem with signing someone for so much money (especially a british record transfer fee) is that they can only be a bust, if he comes in and smashes it, he should because they have paid a record fee for him to do that, if he does anything less than that then he will be an expensive failure.
