Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

It's very welcome, great work by City Matters but I honestly think they'd have no power if it wasn't for the other fan groups; 1894, the MCFC food bank, trade union blues and the match going fans protesting. Great work all around.

If I had to be a little bit negative though, they could announce the CL pricing as well.
Seed 1 Group stage price.
Seed 2
Seed 3
Seed 4
Last 16 etc...
If it follows the Cat ABC structure, then just let us know.

It's one of the reasons I've knocked the cup scheme on the head.
100% agree

Agreed. They dropped a bollock last season by failing to announce lower prices for the other three games at the same time as announcing high prices for the Inter game. - Re-run of the final etc.
However they'll base knock out games on the attractiveness of the opposition not the stage of the tournament.
Alternatively they could just screw the part-time fans who can't be arsed when we play non-glamour clubs.

Kevin Parker doesn’t help himself his twitter feed today has been a joke. Please don’t pretend he is an angel.
There’s very few angels about mate. I have seen a few tweets but not really caught up with what the fuss is about I do recall newer protest groups / reps getting giddy and taking credit for the season card price freeze and flexi-gold deal.I can’t remember people making a big deal out of that.

Anyway, credit to everyone involved in getting a better deal for fans. I think both the protestors and City Matters made a difference.

Are you referring to a couple of tweets between Kevin and Steven Mc. They were fine with each other after 5 mins.

I am far more interested in the outcome than who
Is / isn’t worthy of taking credit. City Matters, 1894 and other protest leaders, fans and City for listening have played their part.

I'm now an ex season card holder
My SC was in block 104 and the price was frozen at £920 for this season, an average of £51 per game
The seat was the second most expensive "plastic" seat in the stadium. Only the Colin Bell L1 costing more

Looking at the new match day prices, I've read these as being £40-£60 in the equivalent seat as my former SC
Is that right and is it fair on SC holders?
Season Cards are far too expensive for what is essentially the Kippax Stand 1994+.

Great news they've come down so will attract more fans. Be interesting to see match day prices in my area next season as potentially with this new price range it could be cheaper to buy match by match than have a season ticket
This looks possible or at least a seasoncard will not offer a big reduction which seems odd but not sure how they could adjust this now

It might be part of the plan to reduce the attractiveness of buying a season ticket even if you can't attend a significant amount of matches. There was such a big disparity between the season ticket and match ticket pricing, it was worth keeping on with your season ticket even if you knew you'd be missing a load of matches.

I'm in 201 my ST average is £54 per game so will be borderline if individual match tickets would now be the cheaper option if attending all games depending on how many in each category.

Yeah it depends where you are. My south stand level 3 works out at £25 per match and the equivalent match ticket was over £70 for category A matches so you probably only needed to attend the big matches and maybe a couple more and you'd not have lost anything.

People are missing the point a bit.

Yes, match day tickets are now cheaper, and that could lead to fans paying less for matches over a Season than a season ticket holder? (someone will have to crunch the numbers) Could? But you are not guaranteed a ticket for every match, regardless of the cheaper price. With a season ticket you are guaranteed a ticket for every match. Given that scenario, I would always go for a possibly more expensive season ticket.

Personally I don't mind paying more for a season ticket, if that's how it works out? I'm just happy match day ticket prices have come down, are more affordable, meaning more City fans can watch City.

Spot on mate.

Plus, non season card holders will struggle to get away tickets.

Now apply the reduction to season tkts already purchased City.
Would be worth it for the publicity alone.

Correct, I’m all for the tickets to be cheaper to allow more chances, of course I am, but a reduction or refund on season ticket cost should also be applied, surely we count? Then again maybe not

We might all get a tenner voucher again to buy a shit hot dog n chips so it’s not all doom and gloom yet I suppose
