Can someone tell me why they have all these committee meetings, no one answers any of the questions, they just spout the same shite to all the questions! Hegseth is currently doing the rounds and one member absolutely destroyed him, but nothing ever happens, or does it?

I completely disagree. For me at least, it’s easy not to follow something so ugly and full of hate.
I doubt the majority people follow it. They'll get on with their lives in ignorance until the fascists get to them.

I agree with most of what you’ve said there, but I responded to you saying it was an easy ideology to follow. As if everyone was susceptible. My point is that not everyone is. Certainly not me. It’s a state of mind that is an anathema to my personality type.

In short, I’m not a ****.

I framed it wrong I think?

If it was coming here I'd be fighting back against it by trying to reducate rather than call everyone a **** that follows it.

I don't believe all reform voters are racist/fascist fuckwitts. I'd argue the majority just want a change of political system and it's only the snake oil salesman offering it. But that's for that thread.

I agree with all that, mate x

Into The Twilight Zone
Mr. García, who you will recall was wrongly deported and brought back finally, now faces charges of smuggling undocumented immigrants into the country. There was a detention hearing today in which the DoJ argued that García should be kept in custody.
And their grounds for this argument? Would he flee? No. Is he a danger? Nope. Why then should he be kept in custody?
“Well judge, if you let him go, ICE will likely deport him again.”
The dumbfounded judge reserved judgement.

Then if they’re not racists or fascists then they’re fucking idiots at the very least.
If they can't see the way Farrage is attempting to emulate the way Trump is monetising politics by using division and hate, then fucking idiots is exactly what they are.

When the Guard opened fire at Kent State, it was the beginning of the end for the then administration. They gradually lost all sympathy, but it took a few years to expose the immorality of Nixon’s regime.
Note: the public opinion polls in the immediate aftermath of the killings showed majority support for the gov. I expect Maga supporters would take a while to realize killing US citizens is not to be condoned.
I couldn't agree with your Note, any more. In the summer of 1970 I was a skinny little boy of 15 trying to decide whether to rebel against my parents and the establishment by growing my hair (which I did) and earned a football (soccer) scholarship to a university in the deep South. Showed up the first day of camp and was told by the first-time manager to cut my hair before I "desecrated " his field again. Packed my bags and drove back to Philly that afternoon.
It took several years before the attitudes changed from repulsed to acceptance of a different way of seeing things.

Just seen the Florida press conference, if you throw a brick or point a gun at the police we will tell your family where to pick up your body, if someone threatens your car you can keep on driving, so they’ve given the police ability to use lethal force for a brick and any fool can go on the rampage in a car now!

Is that a gaffe or is it just thick? A gaffe is Keir Starmer saying sausages instead of hostages. Stupid would be if he didn't correct himself afterwards.

Gobshitery is becoming the norm.
Just stick your fingers in your ears and go nah nah nah!

When this regime starts letting the free press in to ask questions I may tune into them again.

Though it is unclear why these two were targeted, Hortman was one of four Democrats who voted with Republicans to end taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants under MinnesotaCare.

In the end, all House Republicans voted for the bill, with Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, DFL-Brooklyn Park, casting the 68th vote. Although she said as recently as last Friday that she did not agree with the measure, she can say she was true to her word and stuck to the deal made with Speaker Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring. Her vote also gave all present DFL House members cover to vote against a bill that was anathema to the party’s base but ultimately necessary to secure movement in other budget areas.

Senators clashed during debate over Democrats’ criticisms of the legislation. Sen. Clare Oumou Verbeten, DFL-St. Paul, said the legislation is “cruel, it’s racist, it’s deadly.”

“In the state of Minnesota, and as recently as last week, in the most closely divided state legislature in the country, we sat down, we worked things out, we debated, we shook hands and compromised, and we served the state of Minnesota together,” Walz said on Thursday.

Apparently the police say the suspect has a manifesto. I just thought I'd check to see if those targeted were Jewish (you never know) and Hortman was Roman Catholic and taught Sunday school in Blaine according to her Wikipedia entry.
