Ilkay Gundogan

The chance of Gundo being registered as one of the 17 non-HG players is pretty minimal. I can't see him staying based on that alone.
But we don't know who is leaving.
We can guess but there are some of our current players who may be wanted by other clubs or may wish to move voluntarily.
All the old guard will be aware of the threat from the newer and younger players.
I think we may learn a lot from this CWC tournament. While still wanting to win , it also gives Pep a chance to experiment.

Sure, but it feels unlikely that two non-HG lads who aren't called Gundogan leave and that no further non-HG players come in (EG - a RB)

If we are to loan out Reis and Echeverri, I believe we still have to sell 2 non-hg players. He has to be one of them, surely? One of our greats, but age waits for no man, and we are stacked in his position now.

Managing loans and sales will be a tough assignment.
We have several players on loan last season that need to be dealt with Iike C.Doyle, Kabore, Philipps, Bah etc.
There is a limit that we can loan to foreign teams ( 6, I think)
There are also limits within the PL. Our more senior players, if loaned, will want to remain in the league or go to a top European team.
The championship and lower English leagues will probably be the loan destination for our younger players.

It looks like a lot more players will need to be sold as the loan options are fairly limited.

if he goes the saying “he’s so good we bought him twice” will have to be changed to “he’s so good we sold him twice”

Leroy and ter Stegen going Galatasaray so Ilkay would have some German buddies waiting for him.
He has Turkish relatives, both of his parents are Turkish too, and he even said he considers himself more Turkish than German, so surely this move would appeal to him.

How many passes before the assist has he got? Such a bullshit line used by people defending over hyped players.
There have been over the years many teams whose game plan was based on a deep lying playmaker. In Italy they even have a word for it which translates as ‘quarter back’. Crikey even England tried it once but Beckham was not up to the task.
