Did you enjoy the champions league this season?Bayern 10 - 0 Auckland pretty much sums up this competition!
Sounds like a scene from Midnight Cowboy! Keep away from anyone in a cowboy hat.Bloody hell.
Just booked the “hotel” for Philly.
Well actually it’s a hostel.
$79 for a room with 18 beds! (9 bunk beds)
The attendances have been huge. Bigger than you would get in most group matches in the World Cup itself. Apparently no one is interested in it. Perhaps it's just another lie from the parochial English media.yep, bit surprised at the attendances so far, much higher than I expected, indeed English media doesnt stop writing articles how nobody cares about CWC and probably 3 more articles being -written on it as I type this.
they really hurting only 2 English sides can participate in it, and probably the two they want the least..:)
had it been rags and dipper, English media would prop this CWC up big time to get the nation behind them ffs.
we just need to win the group and then we get likely an easier opponent in last 16 and after that only decent clubs left anyway.
It's ok you don't have to watch it. You can always watch Wimbledon instead. It's not compulsory to be a City fan.The only good thing about this competition is the prize money
Load of shite, otherwise
The UK media poured scorn on the early years of the European Cup. The arrogant "British exceptionalism" meant English clubs didn't even enter it. In fact Matt Busby and his United team were pioneers who led the way despite being criticised. This sort of "Little Englander" mentality is driven by the press and it affects all walks of life. Its one of the reasons this country is in decline and being left behind by most of the world. Our media and its negativity is a poisonous influence. The constant sneering from the British press and media at this competition is tiresome and reminiscent of the attitude of the haughty British towards the World Cup and European Cup when they were launched. But perhaps if any of the Red Shirt Cartel were involved it might be different?
Also constant claims by the same British media that no one is interested and that attendances would be poor is somewhat at odds with the impressive crowds for the opening games and TV audiences from the rest of the world.
You don't have to watch it. You don't have to support City. And you don't have to keep telling us that you hate the competition.Told you all it was a joke competition
Boring mate repeating the same shit.Told you all it was a joke competition
Hungary 10 El Salvador 1. 1982 Spain. World Cup Finals Group 3Bayern scored 10.
A scoreline like that really doesn't add any legitimacy to the tournament.
Spot-on. It's suprising how many City fans (who should know better) allow themselves to be manipulated by the media. The BBC and SKY are slating the CWC because they did not get the broadcast rights. The BBC sells advertising on its website outside the UK but has no footage of matches. SKY is struggling and shedding jobs. They are being left behind globally. The world has changed (whether we like it or not). It is perfectly reasonable for people to have their own views on modern football (there are lots of things wrong with it) but if you are going to criticise you should at least be aware of the wider context. Personally I see international football as a bigger threat to clubs than the Club World Cup. Not everyone agrees and that's fine.Boring mate repeating the same shit.
Meaningless friendlies is a joke.
International games is a joke.
Early stages of :
Champions leagues is a joke.
Fa cup
League cup
Europa thingy
Clubs of all sizes should be allowed to compete and it’s no shame seeing the huge contrast in quality.
This comp is no different to the rest. The media would have you believe it’s tosh so let them lead the sheep.
We all know if the red shit were in it the bbc would have 24/7 positive news.
Simply turn it off or stop repeating the same boring narrative that you have been brainwashed to believe.
If City weren't involved, the majority opinion on here would be negative. No need to be so defensive about it ;)It's ok you don't have to watch it. You can always watch Wimbledon instead. It's not compulsory to be a City fan.
At least you have provided your reasoning this time. Better than “shit”. Well done.If City weren't involved, the majority opinion on here would be negative. No need to be so defensive about it ;)
I'll still watch City and some of the bigger games but it doesn't change my opinion on the tournament. It's a bloated competition that'll lead to the top players having just one summer break every four years
