Saudi's stake in DAZN is less than 5% according to wiki. Even if the Saudis were behind DAZN's decision for World Club Cup rights, so what? I don't care. The European states, and the USA should not run global sport. That's not healthy.

"Most of the world's footballers do not receive their full salary, play only a few months of the year, and do so without minimum guarantees of stability, medical coverage or decent working conditions. This reality was completely ignored by FIFA, which chose to continue to increase its income at the expense of the body and health of the players."

A previous FIFPRO report highlighted how a lot of footballers outside the top leagues play without the security of knowing that they will get paid. It sounds like they think FIFA are not addressing that issue but at the same time celebrating their success in organising this competition and at the same time pocketing financial reward for themselves. And to do that they have put the elite players at risk.

Probably all the players in this competition are outside of the cohort of players not getting paid, you would hope.

That’s my take, anyway.

Fair enough. Odd thing to put in a report about the CWC, though.

I think we all realise their are some very serious issues with football, what is supposed to be a sport, after all, at the moment. Over-commercialisation leading to player welfare issues, for example, or inequalities in revenue sharing leading to the inevitability of the success of a limited number of clubs.

I am just not sure, in fact I am positive, that criticising just the CWC is the way to go about it. None of the issues started with the CWC and none will disappear if the CWC is ditched.
 
I completed the fifa survey they sent through.

Shuttle buses to and from the stadium was well organised.

Had not paid much attention to the hosts in the future but one of the questions was about it. Qatar (mid season), USA again, combination of Spain, Portugal and Morocco in preparation for a World Cup bid / hosting and the other option being Australia.

On the FIFA website, but it was implied before hand when they kept the old trophy for the IC and the badge RM had was same as City's but with different wording. What does not make sense is that City and RM both had badges on as holders if it is the same comp.
