I know everything is a political football nowadays but it’s depressing how both sides are still so focussed on tit for tat arguments in attempts at oneupmanship and trying to gain the moral high ground, rather than just thinking that maybe some victims might be closer to getting the justice they deserve and to also hope that the perpetrators as well as the people in roles that could have stopped them or protected the victims more are held to account.
It’s where we are right now as a society and now everyone’s got social media too, it’s a great opportunity to have a go at “the other side” but I’d like to still think most people are just thinking good, do the inquiry and please hold the people to account that deserve to be.
Hi Melton
In principal you are of course correct but in this case I make no apology for " having a go at the other side"
The crux of the matter and why we have a " scandal" is nothing to do with the colour or ethnicity of the perpetrators.
It is not a 'scandal" that some of the perpetrators or a lot of the perpetrators were Pakistani or Muslim or whatever grouping you choose.
The "scandal" is that the law was not applied evenly to perpetrators of certain ethnicities for fear of arising racial / community tension and that the victims were denied the protection of the state for the same reason.
Essentially the lives of young vulnerable girls, many under the age of consent , children as Baroness Casey points out were sacrificed for the sake of the reputation of multi -culturalism.
Baroness Casey has confirmed what was already well known, that a major factor behind this was the fear of being branded Racist.
Who calls people racist for pointing out that a good many incidences of grooming crimes appear to emanate from the Pakistani community ? Who calls people racist for questioning any aspect of multiculturalism or immigration ? Who has created this culture where the police and other local offices of the state are not only afraid to do their jobs but even to speak out about the issues they face for fear of being a supposed racist?
Politicians and media on the Left certainly, but also in their own small way, posters on forums on the internet, just like these on BlueMoon. They help create that culture and for me any poster on here whose first thought on alleged Pakistani grooming gangs is to try and deflect with what about the white ones, that's Racist , that's Far right , political point scoring etc is in their own small way responsible for that culture.
Do you think they should not be held to account a little bit for that ? I do , they should have a good look in the mirror.
Will they do that of their own volition ? - you can see from some of the posts on here , not a bit of it , in the main absolutely shameless .
So yes agreed in principle, not in this case.
