Season ticket holders non attenders numbers

Hardly a conspiracy theory, it’s a new regulation brought in by the club. Those saying actually, they don’t mean it, everything’ll be fine if you plead special circumstances are perhaps being a bit naive. But yes, of course, we’ll see what happens. There’s still a chance of a rethink and the reduction in matchday prices gives me hope that fans are being listened to at last. A good reason for protesting now rather than later.
Ok, so i'm 'a bit naive' am I?
Whereas you obviously know what's really going to happen before it's even happened because you're streetwise and not gullible?
I know for a fact that the club help out those that can't make the games due to unexpected and long term illness.

Of course I don’t know what’s really going to happen, other than the club saying those personally attending fewer than ten games won’t be able to renew their season tickets unless they’re given special exemption. And I don’t like this policy because it brings no benefit to supporters. And I don’t really understand why some are defending it to the hilt

One of the very valid points made by City Matters to the Club, is they are asking fans to share potentially private and confidential information. To get an exemption, should you have to share that you’re experiencing a complicated pregnancy, have given birth to a premature baby, been given a cancer diagnoses, wife’s left you with 3 under 5 year olds etc etc. And you’re not discussing this with a trained counsellor. Probably some kid whose last phone enquiry was about how to transfer a ticket.

Trained counsellor? Behave.

I used to work for a sports streaming channel and if a customer told us they had a gambling issue and needed to step back, then we'd immediately cancel the subscription (regardless of how long was left on it) with no further charges and tell them that we wouldn't be able to re-subscribe them. I did have one who came back and admitted he only said that because he was going on holiday and I had great enjoyment in telling him we had to go off his original statement :)

You don't need a trained counsellor to just listen to people, if they say it's personal and they don't want to share, I'm as sure as it's possible to be that they'll get an exemption for at least the one season.

Have you ever complained about being surrounded by "tourists" and that the atmosphere is flat? It's not a case of "defending it to the hilt", it's just an alternate opinion and confusion on why people are getting in a tizzy over something that may have no impact on them and with minimal facts.

I haven’t complained about that, and this new policy is designed to create more tourists rather than fewer surely?

you are frankly making stuff up to suite your opinion which I suppose is ok. That is not how the club is dealing with folk that contact them at present. I base that both on my my own experience, and having been in dialogue with Alex at City Matters. What material evidence are you basing your opinion on?
This policy may or may not be overturned but your attempts at telling everyone that the policy is fair and everything will be ok is optimistic at best. The club have not given one coherent reason why its been introduced either.
'To improve atmosphere at the Etihad' lol. I'm not going to get into a debate with you about it as you seem very certain you are right, just noting my opinion which at least is evidence based.

Reading comprehension not high on your list of things you're good at then?

And plenty of others have had excellent talks with the club or are they "making things up"?

None of us really know how rigid City are going to be with this until renewal time next year. My dealings with them so far regarding my son’s season ticket, and the feedback I’ve had from City Matters doesn’t fill me with hope. But I genuinely want to be wrong. I have a disability and the disability team are incredible. They couldn’t be more obliging and I can’t imagine there will be a single person with a health condition who loses their season card if they have anything to do with it. But that only covers one category of people who may have issues.

Can see why the club want to control where the ticket goes and why you add them to your account to pass the season ticket on for just security reasons but if the season ticket is put up for sale it shouldn’t matter how many games you miss..

Must be more to do with they want your seat..

If that is true then City should contact those people.
They might already do that, but 1,200 not attending a single game is around 3% of our ST base; do they all have long term issues?
I know a blue who was in that position but he had an extremely rare health condition. But I'd have thought it was rare.

If the club wants the additional revenue to resell then there is also the option for non going season ticket holders to "sell" the ticket back to the club. I'd still rather stick with the arrangement that as long as a city fan uses the ticket then who cares

In addition when I cannot attend I give my ticket away as I have friends that cannot afford a season ticket or to attend the game, I'm very happy doing this and it still allows good fans to attend games
Playing devil’s advocate here but what that actually sometimes does (and I’m guilty of it too) is let people jump the queue ahead of those who may have been struggling to get a ticket. Obviously only the big games in reality but it’s why a lot of away tickets don’t end up being available on a points based system.

yes, maybe but I still we have fans that have been loyal for years (my friends) that attend. I feel comfortable with this

There's a season ticket seat next to me and my lad lucky if its been used more than a dozen times over the last 2 seasons. A guy in the row in front of us owns it.
