It may have played a part but (and I may be wrong) I suspect the main factor was not being able to sell out every game at the current stadium capacity and having a few thousand new seats to fill shortly.

But you’re ignoring the fact that we HAVE helped them in the past but since then they have enjoyed belittling us in every way possible - exacerbated when we became the more successful club. They couldn’t stomach it so set off the 115 investigations

Tell me what they have ever done to side with us or indeed, help us. As fans, have they ever taken our side - or have they revelled in the name calling & investigations against us.

They do NOT deserve any help or support from us.

It had reached the point though where I was starting to think a national organisation of fan groups was going to be needed which even involved working with United’s groups.

Bottom line, the execs at all PL clubs just want supporters with the deepest pockets and don’t care about the working class supporter who is being replaced. The fabric of the game is at stake IMO.

I hate United and their fans as much as ever, but there is a bit more sympathy than there was before. What is happening there with ticket prices is criminal.

The Premier League has written to Chelsea to seek clarification over the club's position with ticket re-sellers - amid controversy over Todd Boehly's involvement in Vivid Seats.

Boehly is both a director and investor in Vivid, described as an "unauthorised ticket seller" by the league, and also owns a 13% stake in Chelsea.

The website lists Chelsea matches on its platform, with some tickets last season at Stamford Bridge going for as much as £20,000. It is not allowed to operate in the United Kingdom, although is permissible overseas.

Obviously there's a lot of tossers on the Internet, but we did get support from the 1958 fan group, they've stood with 1894 and the foodbank group last season on ticket pricing.

I know it doesn't fit the narrative, and I hate their club and fans as much as the next Blue, but there are (some) good people on all sides, and like @NJMCFC184 said, we wouldn't have won the £30 away cap if fans didn't stand together. All it does is make it easier for them all to pick us off. Banners were held across the away end with Liverpool at the Etihad and Anfield last season. Stuff like that makes a difference.

I would be shocked if any City groups stood beside these fans. Remember the coach attack, spitting at our bench, throwing the pint pot, the banner, not in my life time, the letter, the hacking, tapping up of Arteta.

Arsenal's fanbase is embarrassingly shit on stuff like this l so fair enough, but on scousers and rags - City fans from 1894 were some of the key people behind the idea of the Twenty's Plenty campaign 10 years ago now, working with Liverpool fans especially. We all won big from that, and we're still getting the benefit of all fans working together to this day. Would you genuinely rather that have not happened?

I just mentioned about City fans holding banners last season with Liverpool fans inside and oitside stadiums, clubs don't want that sort of thing inside their stadiums as it looks bad, it will have made a difference. Whether you like it or not, football fans organised across the country are much more powerful when we stand together.

As some of the biggest clubs in the country, obviously we're going to hate eahh other more, but we have to work together to get meaningful stuff done. The City groups who won things this year didn't do it in a vacuum, it came in a year when there was protests across the league. Groups from rival clubs giving advice and encouragement. Ours just did it better!

Too little, too late as far as rags are concerned for me. Only interested in joining with us because it is beneficial to them.
 
Just been reading that Newcastle have introduced a new policy for next season where if you don't attend or transfer your ticket for 5 games, your season ticket will be removed.
However, they haven't communicated that to fans but just changed the T+Cs.
