82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

I don't think he's the answer to the mare's nest that is our right-back position, but he's a tidy midfielder. I'd still like to see him improve two things: his stamina/speed, on which the new coaching staff should help, and his composure/shooting in front of goal.

He will likely play in 40 games a season, but we need a top rate right back as he not quite good enough.

Don’t disagree. However, I’m unconvinced that there is one available at an acceptable price this summer, so the search will continue for a while yet.

he is a very good player to have in the squad, academy lad, not crying for playing time if he isnt selected in line up for 6/7 games in a row.
he just shouldnt start as much or get his starts mostly in easier home games and cup games and some lesser CL games.

if we would get someone that is better and/or older he would not accept this kind of rotational role and could cause trouble due to playing time.

I don't see him fitting into a wingback system at all, unless it's in central midfield and we're already massively oversubscribed there. Of course, we'll almost certainly play all kinds of systems over the course of the season, but the wide wingbacks getting up and down all game was a major plus point of that performance last night

Genuinely think that's the worst decision of that kind I've ever heard. Assumed this was some kind of sarcasm when I read it. It was a farcical red to begin with, what an utter joke. Winning the ball cleanly with a fair sliding tackle is now deemed serious foul play. May aswell adopt kids 5-a-side rules of no going to ground in that case.

I dont think that rule is far off.
