30 | Claudio Echeverri - 2025/26 (on loan at Leverkeusen)

The Al-Ain player basically fell full body weight on his leg, so definitely a knock.

It could've been a lot worse, I thought. One of those you watch in slow motion and wonder how something doesn't break.

Either way, he looks impressive - albeit a quick to go down under contact - and a lovely free kick too.

The Al Ain player thought we were playing American football rules.

Strangely the ref seemed to be in agreement. At least 5 times an Al Ain player just ran through and pver a City player. And in a majority pf those instances the ref just let it go.

His playstyle reminds me a bit of Brahim Diaz.

I think he looked good, unsure he can get any meaningful minutes here though.

Probably needs a loan.

Decent comparison that. Agree with what you say lots of competition for him.

Has a lot to learn but clearly has talent and is very eager. Probably worth keeping around if he doesnt mind the sub role and cup minutes.

We need to keep him around at least until the January window. He probably won't be in the Champions League squad but will be in the EPL squad. He can play in the League Cup and could get minutes in the league.

I'd loan him out, preferably to somebody in this league. Has the technical ability and has played first team football with river plate he just needs to get used to the physicality and learn how to handle himself better. More games is going to benefit him in that. Doesnt offer anything unique to what foden/cherki and even marmoush and Bobb can offer us.

Currently comes across like a young foden, he was very easy to just muscle off the ball at that age too despite the technical talent and imo Phil never really learned to handle that aspect as well as he could.

I think I'm right in saying he is going to miss out on club trained status anyway so loaning him out isn't going to harm that, that would have been a compelling reason to keep him here otherwise.

If Mastantuono is expected to start right away for Real Madrid, I don't see how Echeverri can't be a part of City's squad, considering that Echeverri >> Mastantuono.

The one thing Mastantuono has over Echeverri is his physique. Franco already has a grown man's body, but in terms of actual skill and understanding of the game, Claudio is way more polished. At least, in the eyes of this River Plate fan, who has seen both.

If the guy can play in the Argentinian league at age 16 and do well, then he should have no issues in the PL.
