82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Foot was low. Momentum caused the accidental collision. No serious injury.
Bigger issue for Rico is if Nunes plays well again, he’ll struggle to get back in the team for the semi and Final ;-)

Wasn't too fussed about this competition but I want us to go all the way now and win it and I'm hoping this shit has lit a fire under the players as well

the amount of players who were apparently not goodenough to be a squad player but this guy who has 0 special trait is apparently very good. And when you ask someone all they tell you is that he is very SMART. So smart that he always leaves his side open. So smart that he is a zero offensive threat and neither a defensive threat. But at least he can clog the middle and pass 1-2 meters to the side or back and if lucky forward .

When you compare him Echeverri, Reis, Khusanov, Gvardiol when he joined, Palmer or whoever left this club or joined this club at a similar age you saw the potential or especially you saw something special in them.
Superior ballplaying ability : Reis
Pace and athleticism : Khusanov
All around game while being flexible: Gvardiol
Doku: dribbling at a similar level to hazard
Dribbling and flair: Savinho
Goatscoring ability: Palmer, Echeverri.

And then Rico: Smart.

Better let Pep know

I know I'm knew, but this is one the reasons I joined. I am glad Rico is out for the next 2. He is not a premier league talent and is a liability most of the time he is out there.
lol, well as a new poster I’m happy to say Hello and extend you a welcome, though after that first post, some will be wishing you a Goodbye ;-)

We didn’t appeal

Gaughan’s report suggests we did appeal unsuccessfully.

I read it as the unsuccessful appeal lead to an additional further games suspension which was put in place to dissuade clubs from appealing all decisions unless it was an obvious match day mistake.

That frivolous appeal narrative was a PL thing about 15 years ago. I can’t remember the last time a ban was extended on that basis.

It’s never been a thing for FIFA. Red cards are an automatic 1 game ban, but are looked at by a panel to decide whether an additional ban should apply.

They’ve decided that a boot to the face, deliberate or not, deserves a further ban.

City can now appeal that, should we wish.

People who hate Rico are weird. He's a utility player that plugs gaps. Thats valuable on any team. But homegrown too and still no cutting some slack? Weird.
Also has great ability to take and give the ball quickly while he's on the move and then move into space to be available to receive again.
