Juventus (N) | CWC | Post Match Thread

A brilliant performance from every player, and a great victory.

Some fantastic goals and some partnerships developing very nicely, none more so than Rayan A and Jérémy down the left. The pass from Aït-Nouri to Doku for the first goal was almost Merlin-esque.

The build-up play for the third and fourth goals was vintage Pep City. Both were brilliant team goals, with a simple finish each time. Neither Håland nor Foden will have an easier finish.

We are in a great position for the rest of the tournament.

Finally, Townsend didn’t half love sucking Juventus' cock.
Such a joy to watch us play like that. I thought Townsend was pretty fair and pretty good

Aye, Pep has brought the lad in, and he's gone "have you tried playing a front 3, Pep, one in the middle and two on the wings cutting in" and Pep has absolutely lost it and gone "you're a fucking genius, you were doing this at Liverpool, why didn't I think of this before".
Haaland Cherki and Marmoush plus Doku and Savinho wide ………..
Make it make sense ! ;) )

Apart from that save?

The shit he’s getting is disgraceful.
It's mental isn't it.

It's never ending on here when it comes to Ederson. I said it before and I'll say it again...They'll all be crying for Ederson to come back when he does eventually leave, It's only then "some' will realise how much we'll miss him.

He's absolutely quality.

Not particularly - pretty steady I thought. That probably makes me a "happy clapper".

No he was at fault for the goal for a starter, as a defender that makes him poor. He maybe better next time and concentrate fully. No point not commenting on what everyone saw with their own eyes
It's a post match thread not a player pr spin piece.

Definitely exciting times.

I'm probably in a minority, then, but I don't think Erling was much different to how he has been. He's always a trier, imho.

I know he has this hang-dog expression, which I think can give the wrong impression.

Having said that, I do wish that he'd come back into an onside position more quickly, but otherwise I've never doubted his commitment.

Hopefully he'll amble to another 30-40 goals this season.
He hasn't closed a goal keeper down with the intensity he did when he came on since he first joined us, generally he half arsed jogs towards them and gives them plenty of time to clear it.

Excellent performance and some encouraging signs. Early days but the new players and coaching staff seem to have brought new energy and intensity which is much needed. Reijnders, Doku, Savinho and Ait Nouri all impressed, but seeing Rodri back controlling the midfield was lovely to see.
I know it’s only early days, but Dave and Tijjani seem to be developing a great partnership in the middle.

Yeah I wanted to say 2022/23 without including the start of 23/24, although I think there were signs of the functionality creeping in towards the end of the treble. Obviously the right call given what we won but I think we were starting to lose the verticality towards the end of that season. 2023/24 was very functional but got the job done.
I think that’s all fair comment, mate.

It’s come to something when we’re describing title wins as functional! :-)

They think they’re robots, programmed to perfection. What’s weird is they only highlight their mishaps, but never post their brilliance.

Likely kids or rags.

A very enjoyable 90 mins, let's see how this team copes with the low block and other defensive formations the PL throws up, but I think this could be a very nice season ahead

Much better in terms of players willing to run in behind and off the back of defenders
Rodri and Reijnders could be devastating.

Feels strange having more faith in Nunes than Akanji.
