Mexican wave

FYI, it's just called "the wave" over here.
The 'Mexican' name is due to the first time UK viewers were aware of it was when it was shown on TV during the 1986 World Cup.
People mistakenly presumed it had originated in Mexico rather than something that had been around at sports events in the US since the 70s.

I know mate. And it’s usually done at baseball games out of boredom.

The greatest one I ever witnessed was at OT cricket ground during a England v Australia test match. Hot weather and copious drink did the trick late on in the days play. What started as a bog standard wave ended up with anything and everything that could be thrown being tossed in the air. The amount and type of inflatables being launched was the funniest thing I have ever seen at a cricket ground.

Fixed.
