Can't find a link. But he consistently reported that City were facing Draconian punishment throughout the UEFA probe and the CAS case. This was the line leaked out by other Club Directors and those close to the UEFA leadership right up to the last 48 hours before City were cleared A lot of this false information was also pumped out by Nick Harris and the usual suspects and Sam Lee became too close to these propagandists and toed their party line. Given his job was to cover Manchester City you might have thought he would have checked this narrative with the club like Martin Samuel obviously did. Anyway Ian Cheesman got the scoop on CAS and the rest is history. Sam Lee missed the story like most of the UK media.
That's exactly how I recall it. Always seemed to be a little snide in his reporting of City. Instead of a bias towards us, it was always slightly against us.

There was a podcast associated with this tweet called Bad Moon Rising with Mackenna, McGeehan, Delaney and Lee "to break down the [club's] flaws and failures, the ethics and the crimes, from the court rooms to the board rooms". I think it's been deleted, unless anyone can find it.

apart from on a rag or dipper matchday never has more stupidity and bitterness been assembled in one place.

Fucking teletext? Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ :)

The TV is on.
The morning sports news round up comes on and it doesn't include anything about us.
I press 2 buttons and I can see a round up of their reports.
(and I don't have to hear some smug twat like Naga Munchetty being a snide bitch whilst I consume the written news)

I don't see what the issue is.
Old tech still works.

Just because you and so may others have fallen hook, line and sinker for the capitalist dream of "needing" to upgrade everything every year, with ever more expensive and shiny gadgets, doesn't make me weird, it just makes the rest of you "gullible idiots" who are too easily parted from your earnings (IMO) :)

....and yes, I've still got a VHS recorder, and no, having to watch adverts instead of being a tantrum-susceptible-child who needs everything now, now, now! doesn't bother me in the slightest. :)

My God, a decent article from BBC Football, and the new City reporter.

Don't bother reading the bitter comments.

And.

Teletext was great before the internet came along. The buttons on the remote were worn out. I think it was 149 for ITV sports and 302 for BBC

That’s how I found out about the kappa deal. Good old teletext. (Back then!)

Correct, let's face it if they were really bothered about climate change then they wouldn't design everything with inbuilt obsolescence.

My latest complaint to the wonderful impartial BBC. It’s becoming a hobby this. Got quite a few going on and am not accepting their generic responses. I just keep going back no matter how hard they make it. I’ll keep you informed on this one

Dear BBC Sport,

I am writing to express my disappointment at the lack of live coverage on the BBC Sport website and app during Manchester City’s match in the FIFA Club World Cup last night.

Given that Manchester City is England’s most successful club over the past decade, and was representing the nation in what is widely regarded as club football’s premier international competition, I was surprised to find no live feed or in-game updates available. Instead, the main story during the match was a report on Jude Bellingham scoring for Borussia Dortmund against Mamelodi Sundowns — a match that had taken place two days earlier and bore no immediate relevance.

This lack of coverage stands in stark contrast to the extensive attention often afforded to Manchester United, including live updates and full reporting on off-season friendlies in far-flung locations. These matches, while less significant in sporting terms, have even warranted BBC Sport sending senior journalists Simon Stone — at licence payers’ expense — to provide live reporting.

As a paying licence fee holder, I would like a clear explanation of the editorial decision-making behind this disparity. Why was Manchester City’s Club World Cup match — a competitive fixture in a major FIFA tournament — deemed less newsworthy than a retrospective article or a pre-season friendly?

I look forward to your response and a justification for this editorial choice.

Kind regards
So this is totally sums up the bbc complaints procedure. Totally not fit for purpose. I’ve had some pretty generic, rubbish replies recently but this tops the lot. Not only have they not answered any my points, they clearly didn’t read my complaint. The two referenced articles that were posted AFTER the game, were nothing to do with the lack of live coverage of the game, or the question I posed about simple Simon’s live feed of the rags friendly. This is proof if any was needed that the BBC can do what they want, when they want, and there is nothing we can do about it. Absolutely no point in replying to them.
