Eni Aluko

i think she has a point about other pundits - not just Ian Wright so don’t know why she singled him out.
I recall each pundit was on just one channel and one channel only.
Now a handful amount of them pop up on lots of different channels - so that limits other wanna be punters from getting the gig. I guess this is her beef as her work has dried up.
The question is, has it dried up because of limited opportunities or because she is a shite pundit?
That point about the growth of certain ubiquitous multi-channel pundits is definitely a good one.

Whilst not disagreeing with you, the other side of the coin is that there has been an increase in the number of pundits employed for each match. There usually 3-4 in the studio and frequently now another 2 on co-commentary and also often an ex match official too.

But surely the pool of ex-players and ex-managers who have insight is huge? It’s lazy in the extreme to recruit the same faces over and over again.

It's always been huge though, but we still got the same old faces. I guess they think that's what the viewers want. Familiar faces whose punditry they know. It might not be what the rest of us want though...

An embittered loudmouth.
Not everything in the garden is rosy but there are better ways of making your point than being obnoxious.

Leanne Sanderson is with DAZN so ITV didn't have much choice in replacements,

Fucking hell both are really scraping the barrel with those two knownowt twats.

Leanne Sanderson is just a gobby rag loving waste of airtime, and Aluko is just as bad as she has ever been.

Both proving that " pundits/ commentators " in general add fuck all value to football.

Questions like "who's your dream date"...

Set women pundits back years that sort of stuff.
Hmm, I see your point. But thing is, I don’t want my women pundits or presenters to be identikit copies of male presenters. I don’t mind stuff like that, it being different, it all depends on the circumstances. Some of the audience might be interested in hearing an answer to that! I can’t imagine her doing that when anchoring a major football match anyway.

The key point also, she’s a presenter not a pundit, so a bit different for her. Pundits need to know their stuff and talk sense and ideally bring some different but valid slant of insight. I do think Carney or Eluko do - though most male pundits don’t either ;-)

Woods, Losada, Hayes and Weir all assets and excellent choices.
Georges and Ludlow don’t know.
Carney and Aluko are the weakest elements imho.
Losada really good as a pundit from what I've seen. Carney and Aluko are rubbish. Hayes I find annoying, she knows her stuff but doesn't offer a lot of insight other than how good and successful she is.

lol, agree with you but m general, but I do think you’re being harsh on Emma Hayes. I know some find her annoying/grating but I think she talks a lot of common sense - and she clearly knows a lot about the game!

My general rule of thumb with pundits, women or men, is give me an ex-manager over an ex-player every day and twice on Sundays. Ex-players who haven’t managed to a decent level too offer so a more limited insight for me, though as ever, there is the odd exception.
