Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Everyone saying the players need rest blah blah blah .... ours had a few weeks off, holiday with families etc, boredom can set in.

Our players relaxing on the beach a couple of days ago, they looked fit and full of it last night despite the temperature.

Pre-season friendlies/tours can be low key and dull, whereas we could start the season with a bang ,,, plus we have 2 teams of real quality to rotate.
That's the problem.

The Intertoto clubs always started the PL season strongly and fell away around October.

It is like doing 400m pace at the start of a marathon. The extra players are a bonus and depends who leaves and signs after the CWC.

I do find it amusing just how passionate people are to say just how little they care about the tournament.

If it didn't interest me, I'd probably just ignore it rather than insist in telling everyone I see just how little it means to me.
Ha I keep thinking the same.

It’s pretty similar to rival fans talking non stop about not caring City won the league etc.

Looking ahead, if we beat Al Hilal we may run into Inter at the quarter finals. They appear to me to be the strongest club apart from City on our side of the draw. We have a good chance of going to the final based on the teams on our side of the draw.

I think it's been a really enjoyable competition. The too.many games issues are undisputed but most of the games have been great. C'mon City!

Yes although I think they were mainly happy about the performance. The feeling of “we’re back”, that we could put last season behind us.

I’m sure that the longer we progress in the tournament the more important it will feel. The first two games definitely had a pre season vibe about them. Now it’s more serious

The players were desperate to score the 7th vs Al Ain, because they wanted to avoid Real and then PSG as potential opponents before the final. Pep rotated a lot in the first two games to keep the players fresh and give anyone a chance to participate. Pep and the players want to win the tournament. Those who think we don't take it seriously are wide off the mark.

I agree, it's been fab to see a City team with mojo back, running, pressing, tackling and glory be scoring from a few set pieces.

This dazn app which I watch on our big TV is not user menu friendly though, but no way am I signing up for premium.

I believe Chavs are playing tonight. I hope they lose but that club has the luck of people from the Emerald Isle and I just keep thinking how they will probably wing their way through each round.

I've ditched all the TV and reverted to the pub. It's cheaper after 7 pints.

I've just watched a prog called The Press on DaZn. Took 5 minutes to load, but I'm stunned because I am not used to any positive comments about the team. They were fulsome in their praise ( apart from one guy who thinks Mooshy not an out and out striker. I kind of agree, however I would love to see him play alongside Erl and see what havoc they can wreak on opponent defenders.

The coverage was so refreshing- this is what it must feel like to be a rag/arse/Dips fan in relation to the media.

If anyone actually gave a shit about it then why have they had to give TV rights away, they can’t give tickets away and the Saudis had to pump all the prize money in via a TV company in return for a World Cup.

The dog and duck would give some of the teams there a game, just something to watch try not to get to carried away
Apart from juve the first 2 games were like playing aldershot

I recommend not watching it of you're not that fussed.

Probably don't even need to post about if it means that little to you.

Tickets were way over priced decent prices for a tournament first of its kind would have made more sense add to that if they had it in a more footballing continent like Europe or South America it would have more intrest no doubt about that.

Personally if city aren’t in a tournament I have way less intrest in that tournament anyway

and in 1930 only the world cup final sold out - no other game. and the prices were only equivalent to 45 quid at today’s money. but as a competition it never caught on did it? i bet there is absolutely nobody who has a clue who won it now. it must be impossible to know

Utter bollocks. Just don’t watch it….why feel the need to criticise just because it’s not your cup of tea? Do you hate the FA Cup because the top teams can draw a lower league team in the early rounds?
