Glastonbury 2025

On IPlayer, Pyramid highlights…. But with Sign language,( which is bizarre for a music festival)

I was at a festival last year where they had people signing some of the acts as they played. They had to swap them out every other song, because they were working harder than the acts themselves!

I just had a Google of these morons.

So he’s the spawn of the pissed up lass from loose women and the bloke from aufweidersein, pet?

Now it’s all making sense. That must have been some fucked up, yet privileged childhood.
There is no way these are where they are without that past. They’re dross.

Catering for their target audience?

Yes, the average age of Glastonbury attendees and headliners has been trending upwards over the years. While the festival has always attracted a broad age range, there's been a noticeable shift towards a more mature audience. Reports indicate the average age of attendees has risen from around 26 to 45 over a 25-year period. Similarly, the average age of headliners has also increased, with some years seeing an average age in the late 40s or even early 50s

They have changed the ‘signer’ every few songs

I agree that there's some really, really weak stuff this year. Not even suitable for any festival, let alone Glasto. But I've seen plenty of decent bands on the iPlayer: Wunderhorse are a really good new band. And Fat Dog a lot of fun, helped by the fact they all seem to be drunk! Osees great as usual too and Franz Ferdinand did a proper Glastonbury set as well. Floating Points worth checking out.

What really confused me is there was a couple of songs repeated on iPlayer with different signers and they signed the same song completely differently. There was also a song where the chorus was the same line repeated 3 times but each time the woman signed something different. I assume there's a huge amount of artistic licence involved.
