Was looking forward to watching Rod Stewart but had an unfortunate bit of bad luck this afternoon.

Coming back from the pub, I took a short cut across a farmer's field and ended up with a bull's horn rammed up me arse.

To make matters worse, some local scroates videoed it all and posted it on YouTube.

When I got home, there was a note from the wife saying that she'd seen it and this was the last straw.

She'd left with the dog and had transferred all our savings to her account.

She even binned me kebab meat and chips that I'd been saving from last night.

But what happened next was even worse!

That really doesn't bear thinking about.

I've seen Kraftwerk three times. The first time with youthful expectation, the second time to see if they really were as boring as I remembered, and the third time because my ex-missus loved the albums but didn't believe me when I said they were awful live.

That was nearly 40 years ago. I couldn't imagine going to see them again, even if I was given VIP stage access tickets.

Someone duller than Kraftwerk...? Count me out.

Saw them about 25 years ago, but only because my partner at that time had worshipped them for years and was desperate to see them.

They were good (in a very technical way) but it had to be the most polite, and boring, gig I've ever been to.
Could admire their craftsmanship but I was raised on something more exciting.

They are far more polished and arguably on the whole better musicians. Putting in the hard yards to play in a band or with a band where technology wasn’t there to paint over the cracks. Also having to play shitty small venues with hostile audiences certainly forces people to be the best they can be.

The only negative is sometimes they can seem to be going through the motions rather than being in the moment.

He played the Picture House Edinburgh about 10 years ago
Tickets weren't selling well so got 241 on Groupon.
Told my wife we were going to see UK Subs who were actually playing a wee venue around the corner.
As we walked passec the Picture House she said I wish we were going there instead!!
I didn't expect much maybe backing tapes and a co vocalist.
But no full band 5 backing singers and a 2 hour set

Place was jumping ! one of best gigs ever

He' old school in the fact that he respects his audience and realises he's there to entertain whereas the gobshite on Friday thought he was doing his audience a favour in turning up and the whole thing was a chore

Probably part of the act, in terms of he’s acting edgy and like he’s made it.

I’d never heard of them before that. I’m no music buff, I’ll add, so I’m sure they’re big enough. Maybe he’ll snap out of that in time, because that whole fag and booze is decades gone now.
