I understand the decision but that's a shame Jim.

The link to the article appears to have gone, in isolation totally relevant with Panja effectively attacking sheikh mansour and abu dhabi, and @Damocles explanation of all things abu dhabi now and historically, is so valuable and informative. Would be great if that could be reposted in some way without causing upset to Colin.

It's not a question of avoiding upsetting people. Like most on here, Colin is a big boy. And, probably better than most, he's well able to fight his corner. But the politics sub forum was created as a place for people to put forward their political opinions/views without derailing other threads. This thread, for example, is supposed to be for people to discuss the scrupulously fair City coverage in the media, not for discussing politics. There's plenty of middle east focused threads in the sub forum. Also, despite what some might think, it's not censorship. If that was the case, a lot of the threads in the politics sub forum would have been killed off a long time ago.

The amount of scrimping and cut backs by the rags even Scruffy Jim would think twice on signing off for the rags to stay in a Travel Lodge.
