Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Hopefully, with the help of new coaching staff, Pep will be re-energised. May even see a few tweaks to the style of play and hopefully subs being used with more than 15 minutes left to play! :-)

Everything just seems completely refreshed and reenergised. Most excited I've been for the start of the season in a while.

Are the Sky quotes attributed to Pep about us being "destroyed" by the Club World Cup true? I assume they've been taken slightly out of context? I know he worries a lot about fitness and too many games etc.

It's scary how many people were seriously saying that in his thread last season.

One thing that drives people bonkers is he loves plays his favorites and plays them into the ground.. while a lot of others just stay on the sidelines and never get a chance to develop.

"We'll rest when we're dead!" -- I'm not 100% sure that whole injury crisis in November wasn't down to him doing that.

And can anyone explain his breaking our settled back line to bring Akanji back end of last season.. how did that work out at Southampton??

Sometimes I hate his overthinking and overreliance on a select few.. hopefully Viana or Pep Linders can get in a word and he will listen.

Needs to realise some of his favourites cannot play at their previous level

Pep cannot help himself.. he has to play the dinosaurs..

Players that need to be moved on or Pep will play them over everyone new:

Akanji
Stones
Gundo
Kovacic
Ake

We have to create a scenario where the new guys can gel in.. not be treated like Nico/ Khusanov where they can't even get a game because Pep trusts the old guys.

If those 5 stay.. they'll all play 3000+ minutes next season.. Pep just can't help himself!

He played all of the players he loves and none of them could stop a Saudi side!

Calm down folks, he just wanted us to have a break, he's not actually going to play Gundogan, Silva and Akanji next season...

Bernardo and Gundo look much better than they did over the whole of last season. Don’t know why Pep still insists Akanji is capable of playing right back though.

Bernado still has it, but Ilkay, Akanji, Nunes, Ake and Stones are either past it, not good enough or not likely to be fit.
I'll admit Bernie has improved a bit but he still lacks creativity on the ball and is too slow most of the time.
