Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

I think for the betterment of the squad a lot of the old guard just need taking off his hands. Whilst he has the likes of Akanji, Gundogan, Ake etc they'll continue to play at the expense of others.

Whilst the decision to not use some of the newer players is frustrating I do think some criticism is way overboard. End of the day we missed an absolute shit load of chances again. We looked far more threatening in that first half and the patterns of play were much improved on what we've seen in recent months.

1/7/2025 this was Feyenoord again FFS
High Line slow defenders left out to dry
Playing uncs
Salvinho never going past his man on the outside and providing good crosses, left on far too long.
Nunes told to go inside when his game is going outside
This was back too January and changes not made correctly
To top it all back to sideways passing
I don't care about winning it all, I just can't watch this shite again, thought we had gone past this

Who or what is an unc?

Losing in a time of transition is acceptable to a point. Losing while persisting with the same underperforming old players while new signings rot on the bench is a waste of opportunities and resources. Would rather lose giving minutes to O’Reilly, Khusanov, and Bobb than getting the same old stuff from Dias, Akanji and Gundo. Roll the fucking dice for once because it’s looking like we’re right back where we were in March.

The only outfield player over 30 who featured was Gündo. Half of the starting XI were under 25

Yap. Pep’s thinking still in November 24.

Depends what happens this season. If we continue to get battered on the counter and he continues with the same strategy questions have to be asked.
A whole season, a couple transfer windows and a semi-competitive tournament to figure it out. Either he solves it or we get a repeat of last season.

I can take losing and going out of the competition, but Pep reverting back to what did not work last year I can't accept. As Einstein once said "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Rinse and repeat.

If all players are fit, Akanji, Dias, Stones, Gundogan and Bernardo all start. What's the point in having a Sporting Director who works so hard to bring some of the world's best young players to the club if they don't get a game? Some of these decisions need to be taken out of his hands. It isn't a manager that is consistent as he once was with his decisions. Playing Rico Lewis ahead of Nico in the semi final of the FA Cup after labelling Nico a Mini Rodri, giving Echeverri his first minutes in the FA Cup final, playing Grealish in the middle v Forest at home and him being one of our best players then dropping him out of the team for 6 weeks. None of his decisions make any sense.

Yes if that happens, and if it does Pep will know himself, only a couple of days ago most were saying how against Juventus we were staring to look like our old selves, and Pep had his mojo back,as we did for 45 minutes this morning, yet because we lost we get the usual posts from the usual suspects.

Need to find a solution soon to teams breaking on us and killing us on the counter because the top teams in the league. All play counter attack football.
