We've always had to adjust our game plan mid season as long as Pep has been here to get results in the 2nd half of the season.

To win a treble takes luck.. I mean the best team I've seen under Pep went out in the CL due to that Llorente hand ball.. or it could have won the quadruple. Lets not forget we got insanely lucky with Akanji's brain fart, Eddie's reaction save and Ruben not accidently heading it into his own net!

The luck evens out (even for Real madrid) in a long run. Its quality that matters. We were lucky that treble winning season because we were a kind of unlucky for few years before that.
 
EVERYONE should calm down here. Every clubs have a bad season after such lung run of continuous success. That was a one off season and that will be that for a few years now.
We will come to our best next season.
We now have new hungrier players. Feeling Hungry is the difference between very good and elite squad.
 
Need to sort the defensive side of our game. Otherwise the reality is we will be fighting for top 4 again.

I know a few fans who watched City for the first time in America and to see their team concede 4 was pretty sad. But yea overall they’ve given us the best fan experience lifting many trophies. It’s important not to dwell on that too long though

I wouldn’t call it embarrassing to be honest. Worse teams have beaten big teams for as long as football has existed. You can have an off season or two without it being the end of the world. I for one am quite happy with supporting city if our worst seasons get us champions league football/3rd place and a chance at a trophy in a cup final. Not everything has to be about winning every year- it becomes exhausting otherwise. There is too much hyperbole around football now probably driven by social media

It seems Khaldoon thinks different though? Across the their lives, business and sport they invest to win? I guess its a mindset though

Khaldoon is a lot more level headed and thoughtfull than you seem to think he is.He sees a bigger picture, a looks longer term.

Yeh but he’s the bloody chairman- we are fans. His interest and our interest is completely different. Of course it’s a different mindset. I care about the club because it’s part of my life and I enjoy watching football and doing it with people I love or have known for years. Khaldoon is a businessman that is trying to build a global brand and profitable asset. I can guarantee khaldoon doesn’t care about the club as much as many fans yet he probably has more reasons to care than a lot of us.

Can you not enjoy watching city unless we win trophies? Can you not enjoy watching city if we have a year we finish 3rd and win the majority of our games?

We are a different City now though? After the last 7 years i didnt enjoy going into games last season expecting to concede goals? I guess my late father and business interests now made me robotic when it comes to winning? My dad drummed into us that life is a competition and we have to win! Same in business, you have to be the best and if your turnover drops from the year before, you have failed and lost and you get hammered for that! This is just a different machine now and the expectation levels are just different and of course we have seen historic moments not juts in our history but english football history but you have to strive to beat them records or you never improve or compete.

You know the make up of the squad for next season isn't complete yet. When the season starts we'll have a squad of around 24, and then we will see who is with the squad and who plays.Or are you basing everything off a summer tournament when we still had over 30 players that showed a lot of good things working better as well as some things that didn't.
The coaches and transfer team will now go away sit and decide who stays who goes and what else needs doing to plan for next season.

Again...this is why txixi and now Viana are paid the big money.....to make these big decisions that require the removal of emotion and sentiment. That's why we should expect them...its part of their remit and it's good business

Its the mentality of some that have seen it all now so dont care if City win anything ever again now? Our owner and his trusted right hand man want to win in EVERY aspect of their investments but its obvious that both are not just owner and chairman of the club but they have become fans as well and fallen in love with it? Soriano hasnt imo but Khaldoon genuinely loves the club and us doesnt he? Look on instagram at Mansours palace and his memories of his kids all wearing City kits and pictures etc all around his home?
