Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri

Ah, the infamous Trafford Tramps' assembly line of local lads born within 5 miles of "The Cliff".
How they still get away with the best youth academy in the world rag, is just more proof of how the media are easily duped -- or bought...
Manchester United have reportedly handed wonderkid JJ Gabriel a unique squad number. Gabriel, 14, who has been dubbed as 'Kid Messi', is viewed as one of the most exciting prospects the Red Devils have ever produced.21

It's a business that needs massaging to get the most profit out of it, for every club.

You don't think someone saying that a 15 year old will "never get a sniff" of the first team when he's watched exactly 0 footage of him is negative?

He could be the next Messi for all they know. He's not, but he could have been.
He could be the next Danny Cadamateri

Youth football has gone mad, £1.5m for a kid who plays in the second tier of youth football. Looks like another 5 or 6 kids of similar age also incoming.

I’ll say it again strategy has changed, 12 of the 15 man squad for EDS final had come through the clubs foundation phase, with 8 of them at the club since junior academy I.e. pre under 9. I don’t think that will be seen again under current leadership which for me is a shame.

You can’t beat a local lad steeped in the DNA like Foden and Lewis imo

I hope not. Danny Catdamteri was one of those players who wasn’t nearly as good as he looked. All sizzle no sausage.
Yeah so do I it was more of a joke. Danny had similar hype as Gai Asulin and little impact on the game.

This kid's Svengali dad has already changed the lads surname from O'Cearuill to Gabriel to "enhance the brand" and held United to ransom for a large pay increase which was paid to avert threats to move JJ to one of their rivals who were sniffing around (including City).

Game's gone.

You're associating youth football with slavery and you don't think it's nonsense? Okey dokey.

Not as uncommon as you think.

Where there is muck there is brass as the saying goes.

Imagine a world where children can be bought and sold, thank heavens we eradicated that.

Is football exempt from morality here?
It's defintely excempt from the Law of the Land for 90 minutes+ week in week football is played on lawless fields all over the UK.

Just read about that. Absolutely mental.

Youth football seems to be heading to a dark place, kids are commodities, and where there’s money there’s corruption. I can smell a scandal and some rule changes not too far away.

I agree. 1.5 million for a 15 year old, the same amount a seasoned professional would cost, just seems a bit mad. Hey, no pressure kid...

I mention this all the time on here but I am met mostly with a wall of apathy, it's most definitely an underside of football that needs looking at.

The post prior proved it, where are those players now? Moved on mainly for profit so forgive me for not getting over excited about yet another prospect that will by the law of averages be sold.

That profit on youth players has paid for many of our signings.

I don't dispute that, my point is that the constant reporting of the next bright new shiny new thing rarely materialises into a benefit for the squad at all, just the balance sheet.

We could have afforded signings just like any other club who have won shit loads of stuff.

Ohhhh look it's the new Messi they have never said :)
