Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

None of Nunes, Lewis, Akanji, Bernardo or Gundogan would get in any top team. Viana needs to clear the decks. And i'm sorry but Savio and Doku are prospects. Both have potential but nowhere near ready to be regular starters for a club like City. Since the treble season we have regressed more than people think.
Facts!

If Pep keeps it simple as in play his best 11 whenever possible, don't play players in positions they don't belong in, stop with the exotic formations, etc. I have no doubt we'll be as good as anyone. But will he?
Deliberate sabotage? No. Gone mad? Hmmm...
Surely not, but what we know, he is stubborn and extremely nervy at crunch time. Sometimes not ideal for cool decision making, maybe.

Still no reason to doubt his position, to be clear.
I wouldn't know a better alternative anyway.

Don't think anyone can write Pep off. He's been written off before and he's found solutions. He's very frustrating at the moment, but I trust in him to find those solutions once again. That's who he is, a Man who's obsessed with winning.

For once in his managerial career he's not a manager leading in world football, he's a manager who's having to adapt to modern day football.

So basically our fanbase are all clueless when it comes to football. Why watch? Pass the Kool Aid then...

How about why did Pep keep Foden, Marmoush, and Cherki ALL on the bench in a game where Rodri wasn't available from the start? Why not a single sub in an attacking role over the entire 90 minutes? Why bring on Akanji? Can you venture a guess other than Pep must have some super duper complex reason none of us mere mortals could possibly understand, results be damned?

Fans are fans, they are not top managers for a reason. How many fans disagree with Pep is irrelevant. It's a daft argument. Plus, many blues are very far from questioning Pep to the extent some are doing it on here. I think most don't think he is past it, mad, or something.

Remember, the dominant opinion on here 5 years ago was that Gundo and Rodri are too slow... Many couldn't understand how Pep was so stubborn or stupid to play them both. Then we won everything... It's not the job of fans to have a deeper understanding of the game.

Come on...
Sometimes it looks like he wants to provide a handicap to the opponent. Like let's make it interesting. Like I'm so sorry I have more good players than you so I'll keep a few of them sat. And I'll throw in some players out of position too. I can beat you with one hand behind my back. I can beat you with Rico Lewis at right back...

Maybe we trust him because his decisions since he come here have been mainly correct and he deserves our respect time to put it right!

Sorry, not buying...

Posters keep mentioning the word ‘transitioning’…….I’m not sure the word is appropriate when the likes of Gundogan, Akanji and Bernardo are the first names on the team sheet.

We need to find out whether some of the young talent can make the next step or risk the repeat of the Palmer situation with the likes of Bobb, O’Reilly, Etc and some of the new young signings.

I think most reasonable supporters would accept not winning a trophy providing some of the young vibrant players are being given more opportunities in readiness for a real push the following season.

The danger is Pep does what Ferguson did in his final seasons from which luckily the Rags haven’t really recovered.

So questions can't be asked? C'mon with this nonsense. You guys take it way too personal. It's not THAT serious...

I respect that, but I guess you remember when many were complaining that Pep was pairing Gundo and Rodri, they were absolutely convinced it made no sense whatsoever...
I don't understand why that would make no sense since it worked magnificently? I have no idea what those people were complaining about.

He's won 6 league titles. Broke countless records. First ever manager to get 100 points, win 4 carabao cups in a row, win 4 Premier League titles in a row. He also won a domestic quadruple, the "real" treble and was 1 cup final win away from doing the back to back league and cup double for the first time ever. No manager in English Football history boasts the records he does, and that's with a net spend of less than United, Chelsea and Arsenal since he's been with us.

How our fans can just disregard this man is crazy. If anyone can turn this around it's Pep.

Yep fair for people question subs systems moan but anyone saying if he dont look good this season questions should be asked about him as in look to get rid! Just comes across as entitled! I’m fine with pep next 2 seasons to work to put it right doesn’t mean I won’t moan about the team about pep! Amy manager after pep will be a failure because no manager will match pep’s achievements at our club!

Nah, initially it didn't seem to work. We sucked in 19/20 and then we were 6th in December next season... Many were convinced we wouldn't win anything with Rodri and Gundo.

We sucked because our defense was in shambles. Plus it wasn't always Rodri and Gundo. We had midfield depth and Pep tried numerous solutions.

Fair dos we all want him to do that he has 2 seasons to do it
I agree, last one and the one coming up. We don't have to win a single thing but we damn well better be truly competitive on all fronts with the amount of talent assembled and the money we've spent. Barring catastrophic injuries there's absolutely zero reason why we shouldn't be a top side...
