I remember going to preseason in Ireland. Cork and Athlone. That was a hoot. At Athlone people were getting autographs on the pitch during the game ! Oh for the days of Alan Ball.

I am as upbeat about this season as I was just before we won the treble. All the signs are there. Pep just has to be more pragmatic defensively. My main worry is lack of pace in the centre backs but Akanji and Kusanov are both rapid. Haaland, supported by Cherki, Foden, or Marmoush is as good as it gets. I still think Nico Gonzalez can play his part alongside Rodri and Reijnders to stop teams killing us on breakaways.

Fully agree if Gonzalez can get on the pitch.

Agreed. I still think Bernie and Gundo can do a job in the squad but not starting games at the same time. If the full backs are going to push forward we must have legs/pace in midfield and within the centre backs. I don't understand why Pep has not sorted this yet. We have been killed in transition by teams like Spurs. Sporting, PSG, Brentford, and now Al Hilal. None of them, except PSG, have better players than us. Gonzalez can play the Gareth Barry role giving Rodri more freedom.

I've never forgiven rosler for refusing to sign my arm at Athlone, yes I was steaming and didn't have a pen but I still don't like his attitude and couldn't give a fuck what his grandad did to old Trafford
