If we're cleared "of the lot", as you put it, then I think we'd be in a good position to go after any journalists who continue to imply guilt. Very much doubt we'd take any action over articles written in the past though.

These guys who have accumulated hundred million pound fortunes are obviously not stupid. It is possible that they vote the way they do out of simple self interest.

Unfortunately I doubt the club would see it as a good use of time and resources to go after them all, and would be wary of the possible negative pr blow back of it being spun as an Arab dictatorship going after the free press.
Having said that, I think there would be value in making a legal example of one or two of the worst offenders that have clearly crossed the line many times - Delaney and Harris / magic hat spring to mind.
I also think we'll get caught on the lesser non cooperation charges. Partly because these are so subjective and also to give either party a clear 'win' would be so damaging to the other.

I'm thinking our owners just won't wear that that outcome. They will take no prisoners in their efforts to ensure we are found guilty of nothing at all. Complete innocence on all charges and massive PL top level reorganization is their target. They don't seem to care much about the media smears, probably because there's little they can do about them through our legal system.
